First post for me...be gentle! ;)I've been an observer of the forum for a good while and just got registered.
Stoke fan for around 35 years (started young), through good (well, reasonable at least) and bad (very bad), so delighted to be watching Premier League football this season.
I can remember 'being' Loek Ursem in the school playground when we used to play soccer lunchtimes with a tennis ball.
Anyway, I was thinking about how many points we might need to survive this season, and I've seen a few estimates from Stokies in the mid 40s. I actually believe we could survive with a total of around 38 points. At the moment, with 24 points from as many games, we're on target.
Remember, equally as important as our own final tally is what the other 3 poorest teams manage, and for some of them, it may well end up being some way short of 40 points.
Also, our remaining fixtures look particularly favourable, with only a few games that look hard to get any points from (Arsenal, Everton and Villa away for example).
I'm optimistic....especially after the heroic victory over Man Citeh. Let's hope we can replicate that performance against Sunderland this weekend. All 3 points would be huge, but I'd settle for a draw to be honest, given our away form so far.
Very interested to see how Camara and Kelly settle in, and hope to see Lennie back at some point soon.
Isn't it great to see players of this calibre wearing the red and white! The fan at the Brit have been awesome, and hopfully that will be one of the factors that keep us in the best league in the world come may!

Welcome Kovacs -Some good points. After the "heroic" victory it is important to carry on in the same vein over the next few weeks. All our outstanding home games are against teams who will come "not to lose",so every game is a cup final from now on

We definatly need some points on the road as I doubt we can win all are home games, its going to be very tight for quite a while yet if you look at everyones fixtures we all play each other over the next few months so its equally as important to beat those teams around you and anything against Villa Everton etc will be a bonus.
