Do you guys really rate him that highly? He was inconsistant with us, and rarely outstanding!

Great news. "I've still got a lot of friends up there that are still at the club - people like Dean Whitehead, Danny Collins and a few of the backroom staff too, so it'll be good to see some old faces. Lets hope he's not planning any parties after the match though.

On his day a matchwinner, we have missed his delivery, and I think the balance of 2 out and out wide players will prove invaluable tomorrow.

Do you guys really rate him that highly? He was inconsistent with us, and rarely outstanding! Why pick on us Flan I have to agree. He clearly has a lot of support on this board but as far as I am concerned he has not cut it at Premiership level either with Sunderland or ourselves. Hope he proves me wrong but I firmly believe that some players get better and better the longer they are out. FFS Lennie get a cat or preferably goldfish instead Long live the rich diversity of this board!

Cut him some slack stokienorthants, he missed much of the pre-season because of an injury he had to have sorted, so he got off to a slow start but then only played about five games or so before going out again with another inury, we can hardly judge him on those games can we!!!

Really chuffed with that. A fighting fit and raring to go lenny could be the difference between relegation and survival.

Liam has played all of 6 games in the prem for Stoke & by most accounts was one of the very few shining lights in Sunderlands 'holocaust' season in the prem.
certainly outstanding last year - best player in the divsion according to the stats & also according to many seasoned observers.
a vital player for Stoke imho.

Lawrence pledges future to Stoke...or, more likely, Lawrence pledges next 6 months to Stoke to see if TP will play him. If it carries on like this he'll be gone in summer with a few more to boot. I imagine the likes of Kits, Lawro, etc will be happy to drop down a league just to be able to play football. They didn't sign to be benchwarmers

Not really pledging his future is it? Says all the right things and I hope he does get a good run of games now he is fully fit then we can have a definitive answer to if he can cut it in the prem. His perceived lack of pace may not be a problem either - Beckham was not blessed with a turn of speed was he! And no - im not saying he is in that class but just saying that pace isnt the be all and end all of that position (although it does help!)

"Stoke midfielder Liam Lawrence has vowed to fight for his place after clear-the-air talks with manager Tony Pulis ahead of Saturday's relegation clash at Sunderland." Clear-the-air talks about what?

Do you guys really rate him that highly? He was inconsistant with us, and rarely outstanding! To be fair you're right mate, I mean last season he only got 15 goals and 15 assists, that's pretty poor at any level
