thats for sure...we now seem to have a capable squad ,an excellent team spirit, all the big uns(except the arse)out of the way.but for me the main deal is that we no longer seem to have to rely on mama and fuller!! this is something i never thought i`d see and its fucking great,we ve got jb,ethers and now camara(ill have to withhold judgement on kelly)its a healthy position to be in and this is coming from a pulis doubter.all we need now is a positive approach away from home and keep this siege mentality at home and i reckon we could be alright! may shiva be with us!

I agree Nick.
It's the extra options we have I really like. The fact that we don't have to rely on Mama, or Rory all the time is something I've been looking forward to for a while.

I too feel optimistic, and that makes me deeply uneasy.
Surely we're not going to comfortably stay up?
And if we don't, that means it could go either way right to the wire. So we could still go down.
Can't convince myself that optimism is the right response.

I'm optimistic too. But I think that's a bad sign Yeah! That sounds really optimistic : lol I just feel that from the start of the season, every point has been one which has been more or less unexpected. Now I/we feel we SHOULD be picking up points, I'm kind of worried too. Hard to explain!

As a Sunderland fan said, we are not to be underestimated, we actually have a mid-table side now!
Our main problem comes from the away mentality, firstly the home side will believe they have an easy win, making them confident and vice-versa for Stoke, and secondly Pulis is not adventurous either(That wasn't a dig at Tone, just stating opinion)

I had this feeling, daydream I'm not really sure what it was but I convinced myself we'd not lose for the next 5 games. I'm normally quite accurate with this 6th sense stuff so lets hope I'm right. Saying that, I did have this feeling that my daughter was going to join the human race last weekend but it never materialised so who knows. ;D Optimistic is good, deluded isn't.

We do indeed have options and flexibility in how we line up, what formation we play and changes in tactics during the game...we have been desperate for that all season and haven't had the quality players......so it will be fascinating to see how TP changes his away strategy that has earned us 3pts and some real shocking displays...will it be the alamo like Liverpool or Chelsea or the car crash that was Bolton Blackburn Mancity spurs ManU Pmouth...more likely to be the dull Wigan 0-0...but I would settle for that.

Personally I would just like us to be in a position points wise, where if we lose we aren't, or don't drop in the bottom 3 !

I agree totally about the optimism it’s been revamped and I for one am delighted with the signings we have made during the transfer window. I can see for the first time in a while real options in most areas. It’s good to have a full back who is not only comfortable on the ball but who actually is a full back and not being played out of position I think Kelly will bring something extra to the right side.
The purchase of a real winger, one with ability to beat his man and more importantly one who can cross a damn ball accurately as Mattie has already shown is a joy to behold. There’s such a different feeling seeing the ball at his feet than watching the makeshift left wingers we have had to endure for so long. The fact you believe he will get past someone and then deliver is not only uplifting but adds considerably to our chances of actually staying up.
Then we come to the two forwards we have brought in, one is a natural target man but there’s a difference he’s also a natural goal scorer and that allied with someone to deliver the ammunition really does give us so much more going forward, now we have another forward with genuine pace and pace hurts teams. We have real options up front, if we can accommodate Kitson into the mix as well we have a real goal threat from four options and not just from one as has been the case so far.
We now need to use Liam, he’s got the ability to deliver from the right hand side and what a difference that would make to us. The chance to pose a threat from either side and he also has a few goals in him. We need to go into tomorrow with a new attitude, one where we are prepared to take chances and keep the ball more. If we can just keep possession more than we have with the added options we really can get results away from home, while I fully accept it’s at the Brit where we will sink or swim we still need to give ourselves the cushion of getting crucial points on the road.
We have scrapped and battled up to now but we now have options that could actually change games and not just rely on parking the bus away from home. I am not suggesting we charge forward like the light Brigade into the valley of death but we certainly need to create chances and actually take some risks tomorrow, it wont be easy but it’s a game we can win if we approach it correctly. If however we continue to play safety first on the road we will not win a game this season and ultimately a couple of wins could make the difference between chewing our fingers down to the knuckles and actually surviving with a little to spare.
Tone got it right this time during the window, no panic buys and no players coming in simply to appease people now he needs to get it right with a chance in emphasis on the road, keeping the ball more will give the defence a breather from constant pressure and more so it will give us the opportunity to use the options we now have to their best ability and for me that will create chances and we now have forwards who look capable of converting them.
Come on lads make tomorrow the first three points on the road and with a few more winnable games away from home it could just be the confidence boost we need to go on a good run. I have a good feeling if we play the right side tomorrow we will come away feeling very happy indeed
