Nananananananana NANA NANA Nananananananana NANA NANA
That one was always my favourite, only heard it sung a couple of times though namely Portsmouth
Get it sung!
Oh, and tell me what the words are before stride by stride

"He came to Stoke to go to war" sounds better, "He came to Stoke, he wanted more" makes it sound like he was sick of Stoke after he came here. Grammatically it only makes sense in the way it's intended is by having it as "He came to Stoke (he wanted more)", and obviously we're not going to sing the brackets, and it's not inflected as such in the song. So change the line!

Plus "Pride" and "Score" don't rhyme... "He wears the red and white with pride! Lawrence, Lawrence He'll sprint and skin you all alive! Lawrence, Lawrence He scores his goals for Stoke City, He gets the ball and you're bound to see Why super Liam's City's superstar" As an adjustment, maybe?
