I think he is the most over-rated footballer in the world since 2002, however saying that he is a very good shirt salesman. (Actually Kaka is starting to push him for the most over-rated tag)

Good player. 5 games, 2 goals and 2 assists = Over-rated, not sure about that. Still excellent crosser off the ball and not too shabby with the set pieces either. I'd have him in the Stoke team

Not seen enough of him in Milan, and I dont really care.
For England he has been piss poor and yet we still drule over him.
Penalties against: Portugal, Turkey, France (another I think as wel) missed. Against French he was diabolical, cost us in 98 with his petulance.
1-0 up in the 47 minute vs Brazil and he jumps over the ball, which lead to the equaliser on the stroke of half-time (wasnt fully fit but it proves my point how everyone rims him.)
Only Lampard's ineptitude was worse than him in the 2006 World Cup, I lost count of the amount of balls that drifted behind for goal kicks, or dead balls that didnt beat the first man. He has no pace, wont tackle and is a bit of a gayboy. Sold his soul when he moved to LA Galaxy.
Like I say, vastly over-rated.

hes on the pitch to set up goals, which he has done at a consistant level for all the top teams he has played for
its no coincidence when he plays for england we look more of a threat, and id bet that we have a better record with him in the side than with out him
and he chips in with a few goals too

Against Croatia when we lost 3-2 at home.
He came on at half time and first thing he did was put a pin point cross for Crouch to nod in. He put in a few more good crosses in that game and also did more running than any of the 11 who had started.
If he'd been used in that campaign more often then we would have qualified (and ultimately lost on penalties) in the Euros last year.

(Actually Kaka is starting to push him for the most over-rated tag) Obviously a very good player but for me yeah always been vastly over-rated. A couple of fancy long cross field passes per game and taking a good free kick is not much in the world of football to me when he's got so many top player attributes missing. No pace, can't beat a man, doesn't keep the ball that well for a world star and like Scholes he sticks his foot in but is useless at it. Too many penalties and the odd free-kick have got him the plaudits so many times when he's been very ordinary for the rest of the game. Decent bloke though and you've got to admire his dedication but definitely over-rated.

(Actually Kaka is starting to push him for the most over-rated tag) Sorry dude, but you've clearly not seen anything of either Kaka or Beckham recently then. Beckham has been a revelation since arriving at Milan, actually gets wide, something that Milan have been lacking for a good while now, and thats despite him sitting in a more central role. Give me Beckham over Xavi Alonso to play the sitting Midfield role any day of the week.

He was never a Zidane BUT for England he has always played with desire. He's led from the front and in tough times stood up to be counted.

One of, if not the best footballers to be produced in this country in a generation. At a time when football has too many bad examples and over payed prima donnas in the game, Beckham has shown time and time again that he wears his shirt with pride and has a genuine passion to play for his country. If we had 11 players showing the same level of commitment and pride in the England shirt we'd win everything going. Hopefully it won't be another generation before we see another David Beckham.

wants a move to Milan because he believes he can keep his England career alive. If half the rest of the England team had his attitude we'd be a lot better off.

Thank god Beckham has seen sense and decided to leave the Majorly Shit League. He can still cut it with the very best and the Galaxy was to be honest, killing a career that has been one of the best I can remember. We still should have enquired though

I wonder how well he is advised off the field. LA Galaxy was all about money and getting a foothold in the USA for his academies. It was a commercial decision not a footballing one.
If he wants to stay at Milan it will cost him tens of millions. So if anything it shows that, when push comes to shove, he is in it more for the football than the money. I think this is Beckham trying to right a wrong decision he made in joining LA Galaxy - he might want to kick his current advisers into touch for getting him into this mess.
As for his footballing abilities, if Ancelotti thinks he is good enough, then that probably says it all.

Stopped being a footballer long ago. Now he's become a TV cult figure, running around with cameras following him. Yet he still has 2 goals and 2 assists in 5 games in one of the best leagues in the world. Beckham is still a very good footballer who is still performing at a very high standard. Well worth a place in the England squad on current showing.

His contribution is part and parcel of the game. I like the player, more from the way he has conducted himself admist the media frenzy about him, he has still held some decorum. He still works his arse off when playing and his obvious strength is what AC Milan were looking for..... Remember it was Ethers good cross that gave Beattie the oppotunity....

Over-rated? He has indeed pulled England out of the shit on a number of occasions, not just his free-kicks but general crosses and determination, would fit into our squad so well if he wasn't such a big name
