My understanding is that as the Ref didn't even book him the league can take retrospective action on the basis that the officials 'Missed' (?) what the other 28,000 of us saw.
Any news on this ?
NB I'm a qualified Ref and 'Striking an Opponent' is a Red Card Offence (even if it is in retaliation)
Still can't decide whether Rory should have gone or not
(Been off-line since the weekend so apols if this has been done already, can't be @rsed to go back through the whole M/B)

Yes they can as the ref has stated that he did not see the incident. One of the daily rags reported yesterday (I think) that the FA are looking into it.
Yes Rory should have gone

Has anyone heard about Palacious action following his game against Bolton when he was still banned? Since he was cup tied for both Spurs FA and Carling cup games he shouldnt have played against Bolton

They should have both been canned, not just Delappers.

Couldn't it be argued that Delap was simply clearing the ball?
AND.. if the whistle had gone, then surely it's only a yellow for kicking the ball away? :s

Palacious WAS allowed by the FA to use the Man U cup game as one of his suspended games, even though he wasn't eligible to PLAY in the game because he was cup tied. Spurs haven't broken any rules. Just how a game he wasn't even eligible to play in, can count as one of his suspended games is beyond me, but you have to realise that this is the FA we are talking about!

The problem is though even if SWP gets a suspension he will still be a snivelling, diving, fooking midget with a shit touch who wanks out at every opportunity (as on Saturday) AND he'll still have a bloke who (now SWP is an established Premier League player) wants to mention being his (step) dad just so he can still try to live out being a footballer years after the thick, cocky twat retired.

It's now up to the FA to claw their way back to zero through positive action. If they want me to have any faith in them at all, they'll have to double their efforts. ;D

I have a habit of incorporating Partridge-isms into everday conversation. I used the classic "to look at you, you'd think you'd sing like an angel, but in actual fact you sound like a trapped boy" on a bird at work. Needless to say, she didn't see the funny side. ;D

It does kind of make you lose a bit of faith in the powers that be, doesn't it? You had faith in the FA? ;D Thats just mindblowingly bollx. Was it just the FA Cup or the carling cup too? I wonder if this applies to loan players too? So if Robbie Keane gets banned for cards and one was the Carling Cup final which he is ineligible to play thats ok? Total madness. They are just bringing the game into disrepute, anyone who watched Basingwas kung fu kick and thinks thats ok because the linesman saw it!! Terry gets red card overturned, Lampard gets red card overturned. Pulis on teh otherhand is worried if he contested Delaps red card it could go from 3 games to 4 games for daring to ask. !!! Wow how the FK are we supposed to believe in this game?
