Just been reading on the BBC 606 forum (Sunderland page) and there was a thread asking if Rory was suspended for the game against them. Rory getting a bit of a slateing for his throw ins and they seem to think we're shagged without him coz we don't have are only weapon at our disposal? I may be wrong but we haven't scored from a Rory throw for ages now? Arsenal maybe? If I'm wrong could someone correct me please? Here is the thread by the way! www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A46976421Thanks.

Well as long as they're watching Rory and ignoring any one of a combination of Beattie, Camara, Fuller and Kitson, we'll be laughing ;D

We scored from two Rory throw-ins against Arsenal, which was on the Saturday after we'd played Sunderland.

nah. that was a tonge/higgy/mama combo That was against West Brom. The last time we scored was against Arsenal on the 1 November. At the very earliest, we won't score off one again until March.

Thats because usually the only person willing to shoot from so far out is Salif Diao.

Beattie and Camara certainly CAN nail them in from outside the area! Have a gander on Youtube, Beattie especially can slam them in with critical accuracy on his day.

Stafford- George's goal was from about 14 yards. A great strike but not from outside the area.

From a Sunderland fan on that thread! Nice comments!
"I think that most people won't have had the opportunity to see as much of Stoke as I have recently. All PL games are shown in their entirity on a Saturday in Canada. I haven't much better to do at the moment because wife and kids are still in the UK for the time being.
I've watched a lot of games this season and seen a lot of Stoke. Tony Pulis is a manager who has impressed me enormously in the way that he has worked effectively with the resources he had, but has built a stronger team piece by piece. Etherington, Camara and Beattie have added to the jigsaw and Stoke now have a real threat up front and an impressive defensive unit. This is not a relegation side, believe me. They will continue to build and have in my book one of the real managerial talents in the PL whose limitations are not hidden by spendaholic tendencies. He is a proper football man and might not get the media attention that a lot of his peers attract, but for me he is a proper manager."
