Did anyone else hear on the news yesterday that Mike Riley had telephoned Fat Frankie (Did you know my mum died last year?) Lampard to apologise for his incorrect decision to send him off on Sunday.
What the f**k is all that about? My blood has been boiling for weeks now over the clear bias shown to the big teams in the Premiership and the general fawning to big name players and managers from our so called even-handed arbiters. Would Riley have phoned a Stoke player for wrongly sending him off. Would he buggery. Tony Mowbray was spot-on with his comments last week (for once) and this only goes to prove him correct.
I remember at the start of the season that one of the cretins phoned Moyes to apologise for not giving Everton a penalty at the Brit. Did he phone Pulis to apologise for disallowing a perfectly good Fuller goal? Not that I heard of.
I'm sure that Riley and his attention-seeking ilk must have some sort of PR Backing to announce to the press that he's phoned FFL to apologise. You are a f*****g referee mate, I do not buy my season ticket just to see you and your fellow bastards in the black week in week out believe it or not.
Sorry for ranting on but this has been getting on me tits for weeks now.

Tbh, the fact that the jumped up little twerp let Bosingwa off with near thuggery by kicking Benayoun in the back riles me more.
Fat Boy was never going to get suspended was he, by far, he is Chelsea's best player and who else will compete with Man Utd, Liverpool wont as they will fuck off soon.
I hate the fact that the Big Four get treated like king's (Rooney's elbow, Ronaldo's kick at Wilko) but nothing will ever change.

this kind of behaviour really brings into question the integrity of premier league refs

In fairness to both sides, I trust that he'll now phone Gerrard and call him a dirty little c***.

So no action is being taken against Boswinga because "Mike Riley saw it"
FFS I give up with these tossers

if he saw the Botswinga incident it can only mean he or his "friends" had large bets on there being only 1 sending off.

Shipshape, You are absolutely right in your thoughts there is undoubtedly double standards from rerferees and to do nothing about Bosingwa is an absolute disgrace . Where you go wrong is to bring Lampards dead mother into the argument. He has been deeply affected by that and for that deserves our sympathy not contempt.

Maybe you're right, rabbigan, that I shouldn't have mentioned Mrs Lampard. I know he was deeply affected by it cos he seemed to mention it at every opportunity he got at the time. Should I feel any sorrier for him than for the bloke down the road who's mum passes away?
The overall point I'm trying to make here is that I've gone beyond thinking ref's are incompetent or "don't know what they're doing". I was totally wrong. They know exactly what they're doing. Anything they can to help out the big clubs. anything they can to get their 15 mins of fame, anything they can to be matey with the likes of Ferguson, Lampard, Beckham, Gerrard etc etc.
The whole thing stinks to high heaven and needs to be looked into urgently.
The evidence:
Stoke v Man U - total bias towards Fergie's lot West Ham v Stoke - I'll get meself talked about by sending off a player for slapping his team mate. (Anyone see Ballack get away with cuffing an opponent a few days before?) Bristol City v Pompey - Crouch handballs twice in his own box before running up the other end and scoring. Replays showed the ref looking directly at it. Stoke v Man C - Wright Phillips not even booked when he could have been off twice.
Referees make plenty of mistakes - they're human (???) after all e.g. maybe Man C should have had a penno, Everton definitely should have earlier this season etc. but these mistakes happen too much in favour of certain teams to be genuine.
