He's touring a one man show at the moment. Due to play here in Lichfield pretty soon. No sign of The Saint (not Simon Templar!) being with him.
Can't decide whether to get a ticket or not, or whether I can be arsed!

He's a true legend but imagine his show to loads of anecdotes about how everything was better in the good old days when defenders used to kick your shins etc...

Saint and Greavsie were part of my matchday ritual... full english with saint and greavsie on, then bus to the match to see mick mills' star packed side slaughter the opposition

Just had the saint and Greavsie's book given to me and am bosting to read it. As some one else said, they were part of the match day titual.

Wasn't the Saint & Greavsie show originally Central TV based with Gary Newbon? It then was adopted by ITV and stole the Midday Saturday mantel from Football Focus. It was entertaining because Jimmy would be slurring his words and Ian's Scottish brogue was barely understandable.
I seem to think they had a big fall out and refused to work together (but maybe i'm confusing them with Lennon & McCartney).

He did a Sportsmans Dinner at my golf club last September & he was way funnier than the comedian on the night ( & sober, unlike the comedian! ).
As mentioned his autobiography - its a good read.

Greavesy was at Crewe Theatre about 6 months ago. Forget who it was with though? Might have been that old guy who played for Crewe and Spurs. Is it Bloomfield???

I swear once the vale fans were singing 'who the f*ck is Jimmy Greaves?' at a televised match and he responded by doing a survey of the public asking 'where on earth is port vale?' and hardly anyone could actually place them on a map! Was a right pisser! Think it was him anyways!

Saint & Greavsie was garbarge & Greaves is very much an old school working class Tory.
However he's always been a gent & always pro-Stoke (played in Sir Stans testimonial). his laudings of Mark Chamberlain helped (imho) big time in propelling Chambo into the England squad at a time when there was no saturation coverage of football & players from provincial clubs found it much harder to get called up than they do now.
Skinner & Baddiel took the piss out him for years but he was game enough to go their show & let them take the piss some more.
Often very wrong in his views about football but always opined with a genuine viewpoint.
Oh & englands best ever striker by a mile

The Fantasy Football version of Saint & Greavsie was always much better than the real thing...BBC2 Friday nights as I remember....didn't Baddiel do Greavsie and Skinner do St.John?
Bit before my time Greavsie..but I've watched plenty of videos of him and he looked amazing..probably Englands finest ever 'poacher'...

Englands finest ever goalscorer , his record speaks for itself , 44 goals in just 57 international appearances. Also agree with Salopstick , his autobiography is a great read.

For me, Saint & Greavsie" was all about Jimmy - St John was the woodenest "presenter" of his day ("hey, hey. nice one Greavsie" was all he ever seemed to say) and a well-renowned total sh*t (allegedly) away from it well known user of "don't you know who I am?" apparently

The importance of making the right decision. Nobody has ever suggested that Hurst was a better striker than Greaves but the decision to leave him out was colossal. It shattered Greaves but was the right decision.
