Time will tell i suppose, can't say i can recall if he's better than Griffin, Wilko or Davies but 4 right backs is always better than 3 hey.

everytime Griff is playing, i always just feel like we're incredibly vulnerable at the back. mind you, whenever Wilko is playin, i fear we'll give a penalty away

Whilst none of the current 3 are world beaters and it's impossible to tell if they're going to step up on any given day (as Wilko most certainly did on Saturday but didn't at Spurs), i'm just a little wary of a championship player being released on loan by a team looking for promotion and leaving themselves short in that.
3 appearances this season doesn't overly fill me with confidence either but that said i'm looking forward to his arrival and hope he's the dog's bollocks!

To be honest with you if it is £500,000 that's nothing really is it in todays climate. If we stay up and he helps us to achieve that in any way it'll be next to nothing.

If Kelly is fit, there's no way he will be cover for our right backs. If he's stilll as good as he was last year, he'll be 1st choice right back with out a doubt.

Hold on a minute we brough a right back in earlier in the season i.e davies who at the time was recovering from an injury. Now mr pulis has done the same with this guy i dont get it is he fit or not.I think it may of been abit of a silly buy but i aint going to judge as i aint seen the guy play.

He has premiership experience unlike our other fullbacks before this season,
this could be really important to us

Kelly still isn't ours though is he? The longer this saga goes on the less chance we have of getting him.

Zohan- Griff has Premier league experience with Newcastle and Derby. ...and Portsmouth. But you have to think there are better right-backs, even in the Championship.

The only outfield player to play every Premier League minute last season, so he has Prem experience, and the Brum fans are furious and puzzled as to why he's been allowed to go. Plus he sounds like a full back who can play centre half, as opposed to a centre half shunted in at full back. All sounds encouraging.

I really hope it's confirmed later today, because if so he'll be the best right-back at the club. Rated by Blues and Spurs fans and a full international.

Think some of you may have slightly misinterprated what i was trying to say.
Can't say i've seen too much of this guy but what i have, coupled with some decent reports, then i've no doubts £1/2M sounds decent business if it was a proper signing, say 12-18 months, but a 3 month loan (£200,000 a month with wages) seems a little excessive for someone returning from injury and will take time to regain full fitness never mind form, but hey ho, not my money.
Actually some of it might be from my S.T.
Not knocking the guy or the deal, just my observation (remember Shola, very similar circumstances)

fee's for loan players isnt new folks & we set a benchmark last year for Shola which was well publicised
if we do get Kelly it will allow Griff to cover LB as well as RB

agree with mumf et al - good bit of business for us. half a million is fuck all in today's climate - could have cost us a lot more buying cover at right back. Also if I understand correctly, a fee is paid so that the player won't be recalled by his team? Is that right?
