Not sure I completely understand Betfair but we are currently 1.8(ish) to be relegated (just odds on).
I am thinking that when we play our next few home games the odds should change massively as we head towards safety!!
So is it "Lay" now and "back" when the price gets bigger?

yes, but if you lay now and our relegation odds shorten you'll be stuck.

Lay is equivalent to 'selling', and backing is to 'buying'.
You always want to buy high, sell low.
If you want to trade this market, it could be worth queuing your money up on the back side of the market (your laying) to get a better price. There's quite often a large spread on smaller markets like relegation and the like.

1.8 is 4/5 something like that, so if you put 4 quid on you will get £9 back...4 quid proffit and 5 pound stake, so pretty much favourites, although last tiem i looked baggies were the favourites.
Even with a couple of wings i cant see how odds driffting at all really, well not until April time anyway
Bookies and media have their opinion of us and it will never change

depending on how you see the result going on saturday that will alter the price. if you think we'll lose on saturday. wait until afterwards and lay us.
but if we win, the short price will disappear and then it's time to back us to go down
