Finally the FA have done something about these incidents... but, no coincidence here, nothing was done about rooney OR ronaldo

Good - at least it shows that players can't think they've got away with it after a game is over. Having said that, I'd have been happy wth both him and Rory just getting a booking on the day.

The FA decided to take no action having reviewed the incident and sadly I expect the same outcaome here The FA have said they CANT take further action because it was seen by the assistant and was punished by way of a free kick. SWP was not punished as he was awarded the free kick and presumably the officials never saw it. Would be nice to see Gerrard punished for the same offence as Delap though but that wont happen. "The FA have said they CANT take further action because it was seen by the assistant and was punished by way of a free kick." The free kick was given against Benayoun for obstruction, In Chelsea's favour. Nothing to do with Bosimgwa kicking Benayoun.

This was seen by millions as it was a televised match and if the FA don't act on incidents like that then its a disgrace and an embarrassment to English football.

The tackle seems to split views. I even heard Graham Poll on Radio 5 call his challenge on Etherington "a nothing tackle". In slow motion, I thought it looked a very bad one. Still, at least he gets the ban for his little Beckham kick. So job done! If you watch it, what happens is, SWP's original tackle misses the ball completely and catches Etherington but his trailing leg underneath him clips the ball, but even then he still should have been sent off, if was a high tackle with his studs showing, and he completely misses the ball, could have been a bad one had Etherington not jumped in the air and got his studs out of the turf

This is justice of sorts. What would happen had shite-phillips scored an equaliser or a winning goal when he clearly should not have been on the pitch.

I am sorry but if Wright-Phillips gets this should Ronaldo not have the same for the Wilko inciedent? We need a bit of common sense and not Man U sense

well man city play middlesbrough at home on saturday i hope SWP plays and scores a hat trick or something will be alot better than getting bans vs teams we need to be losing. if he is banned vs middlesbrough its like getting punished twice
