Time will tell. He doesn't seem to think it'll be happening though. And as their version of Spinks, he'll be better informed than most.
Interesting that we were going to pay a £500,000 loan fee.

Our enigmatic friend Dave seems confident enough that it'll still go through. I remember a few premature headlines last year about us failing to get Pearson in on time, but maybe I'm just clutching at straws.
I'm not a big fan of paying a fee for a loan deal, but he sounds a good player, just the type we need, and if we stay up I guess it's a drop in the ocean.

(Re the £500k for Kelly fee)
But what, pray tell Brummie Mail-man, were they going to pay us for Donko?
A mill ? ;D
And anyway, can;t they have Cort instead?

I hope it does. It'll probably be the difference between a decent deadline day and a very poor one.
Fingers crossed.

Stoke still waiting to hear news about the Kelly deal

Stoke still waiting to hear news about the Kelly deal DV, where do you think the Brum Mail got this info from then? Is it just factually wrong? And apparently, the initial decision to let Kelly go – for a £500,000 loan fee – was in order to free up more money towards the Mills transfer. It was never tied into Sonko joining Blues, according to sources in the Potteries.
So Blues, with Mills staying put, would have had a tough task if they were indeed to persuade Pulis and Stoke to part company with Sonko.
As it turned out, Stoke tried to gain dispensation from the Premier League to sign Kelly after the deadline, but failed.
But that won’t put Blues off from testing the water in regard to Sonko again next week.

McGarry noon sports bulletin : "Stoke are still hopeful Kelly will join before the end of the day" I find it incredible that the club still don't know the outcome. The Pearson deal last season was announced at about 10.00 in the morning (soon after the FA had opened up for the day) but we are now three hours into the day. Surely it is simple. Yes, he signed him time or no, he didn't?!

I'm going with the belief that any deal that was on their desk when they turned up this morning is going to be approved.
The FA don't stand to gain anything by not approving them all.
However if they were to approve some and not others then they are opening themselves up to one huge heep of trouble that they don't need and won't benefit from.
As it stands, there isn't anybody who is going to question the validity of one single approval but if they decide to knock back a few, then there could be chaos, as ones that have been approved start to be challenged by clubs who had theirs knocked back.
I've got no evidence for this, just kinda how I would play it if I was the FA.

I'm sure that there is still time, clubs needed to agree the deals in principle yesterday and send an e-mail to the FA stating this by 5pm , if that was the case additional time could be allowed to sort the details so lets be hopeful until we hear otherwise.

Still "hopeful", as of 12.30 sport headlines.
Played a bit of audio from Pulis sayingthat he's always been a player he likes etc.

What's the holdup? Why hopefully? If they have the paperwork, loan agreed what's the problem, other than players signature.

From official site -
Kelly Update Posted on: Tue 03 Feb 2009
Stoke City Football Club are hoping to complete the signing of Republic of Ireland international Stephen Kelly on loan from Birmingham City.
The necessary paperwork to complete the deal for 25-year old right back was submitted before yesterday's 5pm deadline, however, due to the adverse weather conditions the player himself was unable to travel to put pen to paper on the contract.
The Football League and the FA yesterday announced that any club who were unable to complete the signing of any player due to the traitorous weather conditions, would be granted special dispensation to finalise the deal after 5pm, as long as there was proof of the two clubs and player agreeing a deal before the deadline.

Interesting that McLeish, as of this morning, still refers to him as a Brum player though - in the context of players who may be fit for the rescheduled game? ??? He hardly seems to be expecting the move to happen? www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/birmingham-city-fc/2009/02/03/birmingham-city-fc-boss-alex-mcleish-misses-his-date-at-crystal-palace-97319-22841337/ALEX McLeish has rued the postponement of tonights match at Crystal Palace.
"We would like to have built on the weekends performance"
McLeish added " In terms of players injured, maybe it allows them to get one step closer to fitness by the time we play Palace again.
Gary McSheffrey, for instance, is back training full-throttle. Stephen Kellys back training again. Garry OConnor is working really hard, we hope hes just round the corner as well.
