The FA had one person in today dealing with player registrations - it was one of the reasons the extension was granted.
Will be announced tomorrow.

If his contract was running down and he was set on leaving, you can just about see the motive for cashing in for £750,000-£1m, even if it left them short of defensive cover.
But I'm a bit puzzled why Brum have decided to let him go on loan (if they have) as their other RB, Parnaby, is injured too? What's in it for them? Their fans are baffled at the possible deal if it's happened.
Are we surely we haven't let them have Davies to cover, for example?
Unless the Kelly deal was pushed through as a loan with the intention of working out something permanent over the next few days (didn't Radio Stoke indicate this was also the case with Camara?)

Parnaby has been preffered for much of this season though. Maybe they're keen to add cover in another position (Sonko) or possibly Kelly wants a Prem move and they're just not standing in his way.

But hasn't DavesViews apparently confirmed that Sonko will not be part of any deal? And Sonko doesn't feature on the Sky Sports ticker story.... I can't see what's in it for Brum?

Exactly the same thing has been puzzling me since it became apparent that Sonko wasn't going the other way. I can't see how Brum benefit from this one at all? It's not like they would be desperate to get him off the wage bill because he was on 40k a week or owt. Very strange.

Highly paid player off the wage bill ?

I can't see what's in it for them either.
And to be honest, if the guy is injured it seems to be a strange move for us too. We get Davies fit back from injury, loan him out and then bring another player who is unfit in on loan?

Unless they've decided that with the money they've saved on the remaining 6 months of his contract, they can loan in a player who's going to be of more value to them in a couple of weeks?
But if he is on a Bosman in the summer, strange that we haven't tied anything more permanent up.

Potentially quite a clever bit of business by us, as both him and Camara are free transfers in the summer!
So we get to try before we sign, i guess.

Stephen Kelly is six foot right back with 12 full Irish caps - played in every games for the Blues last season but onlky 6 apperances (3 starts) this time out - anyone know why. I am well pleased we have another full back - we don't seem to have got rid of any so four in and fringe players (Soares included) out well done TP and not a centre half in sight!

We must have a spare centre back we can loan out, maybe thats the reason why.
Maybe Sonko didnt want to go (matches up with the players terms causing problems rumour)

There's nothing stopping Sonko joining when the loan window opens so he still could go to Brum.

Of course the Sonko loan could go through at any time after next week

They would need to be on a promise which make sense with the question why he's coming in with nothing going t'other way

Letting go of Sonko makes no sense unless he has a centre back lined up for tomorrow or will rely on Andrew Davies playing there.

Davies going on loan to me, would make a lot on sense, if Kelly does sign.
He is someone that needs football, and lets face it is unlikely to play for us this season.
We could also add Tonge and a couple of others to that list.

Well it appears they will let the Arshavin deal go through so I'm sure they can allow little Stoke sign Stephen Kelly. One thing that could work to our advantage is that the snow in Birmingham yesterday was pretty heavy.

Doesn't sound promising.... www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/birmingham-city-fc/2009/02/03/birmingham-city-fc-target-defenders-sonko-and-shittu-97319-22841343/But Blues hit a snag as manager Tony Pulis indicated that he would prefer to keep Sonko as cover after failing to land a replacement centre-half. And apparently, the initial decision to let Kelly go – for a £500,000 loan fee – was in order to free up more money towards the Mills transfer. It was never tied into Sonko joining Blues, according to sources in the Potteries. So Blues, with Mills staying put, would have had a tough task if they were indeed to persuade Pulis and Stoke to part company with Sonko. As it turned out, Stoke tried to gain dispensation from the Premier League to sign Kelly after the deadline, but failed.
But that won’t put Blues off from testing the water in regard to Sonko again next week.
