It amazes me how people have blamed the officials and they have blamed SWP (who should have gone aswell), but at the end of the day, the only person to blame is Delap for having a very out of character moment of madness.
If it had been the other way round every Stoke fan in the ground would have been screaming for a red card

No.
On the basis that if we appeal and are unsuccessful then the ban could be increased. Our main gripe with the sending off incident isn't the Referee issuing a red for Rory's conduct, but for what occurred before and after. SWP's tackle SWP's kick
An appeal on grounds of what occurred before and after would be stupid.

Crap decision, desperately need it to be rescinded. How was it a crap decision? The only mistake the ref made was not sending off SWP too

It was the correct decision and the wrongs of the referee to penalise Wright-Phillips are no defence for what Delap did. It was a deserved red card and if Stoke appealed the ban would most likely be increased.

well, let's try and make his case, .... the trip on swp was a foul and a possible booking, he then kicked the ball into swp while he was on the floor, he didn't actually kick swp, he kicked the ball into him, albeit it looked bad, but as Andy Gray said, he did kick the ball, I reckon a yellow for both player would have sufficed, I don't think anyone would have complained at that. I think the Man city players reaction made the refs mind up for him, it was well over the top, no need for them all to come rushing in like that

not worth the risk, delap lost it and reacted stupidly and deserved the card. swp deserved the same but didn't get it.
if you lose an appeal dont they add another games ban on??

Crap decision, desperately need it to be rescinded. How was it a crap decision? The only mistake the ref made was not sending off SWP too Wright-Phillips initially dived when Delap made the stupid tackle. Yellow card, indirect free-kick to Stoke. Delap then kicked the ball, which was in play, before the referee had blown his whistle. Since when is kicking the ball while it's in play a red card offence?
