Whelan and Faye are getting better and better, especially at home. Yesterday both were excellent and I wouldn't drop either of them from now on unless one is injured.

I thought he was a little quiet. Did work very hard though.

Man of the match for me. The ball to Etherington was superb.

i thought it was his best game for the club he made so many great tackles and if he played like that every week he would be a premier player no doubt. faye was just faye think he has been brilliant everytime he plays fast tackles hard only thing is he gives alot of free kicks away around the area which worries me against the good teams.

Whelan plays best when we are not pumping balls forward.

I didn't think Whelan was one of our stand out players to be honest, he had a good game, as did everyone bar Fuller, and his ball to Etherington was quality, but there were Stoke players having better games out there for me, namely:
Shawcross Wilko Both Fayes Beattie Etherington

I thought Whelan had one of his best games yesterday, the ball for Etherington was sublime. He looks a better player when we pass it. One of many heroes yesterday.

Echo these sentiments. He looked like the player Iv seen perform convincingly as a holding midfeild player for EIRE.
His workrate yesterday was phenomenal and his attitude and discipline was first rate. I have to say so too was Amdy Faye and yesterday he certainly stepped up to the plate.
Both are in top form and exactly what we need in our midfeild to stay up, especially now we are starting to deploy wingers. Matty Etheringtonhad to be man of the match in my eyes and offers so much on on that left hand side. Let's hope Lenny comes in on the right now and grabs his chance with both hands. We are starting to look like a serious team now. Well done Tone!
