I thought he had Robinho "in his pocket" - just that silly tackle two minutes from the end when he went over to kick SWP (and why not?)

Yeah he kept Robinho quiet tbh...so that's Ronaldo & Robinho he's had in his pockets & people still think he won't make it in this League hmmm

Excellent, except for the one lapse - I honestly thought that dick of a ref may have sent him off

Pulis needs to say to him that he wont play for stoke again if he gets sent off again like he did before. A cool head on his shoulders would make a bloody good full back.

The lad needs another couple of years to reach his full potential. He plays like a novice at times: unpredictable. But, he reminds me of Steve Bould. And most of us who remember him know that it was some time before he found his feet. I would persist with him.
A word about Pugh. I thought the lad was superb yesterday.

OS, I thought Wilko was just as good as Danny yesterday. On that performance both should keep their places - but who knows how TPs mind works

great performance by wilko yesterday, lets not forget he's still learning the game but with players like ab faye, beattie, and sorro in the team he can only benefit from their experience and improve, but it's nice to see a local lad doing well.

I don't get why people keep on going on about his age and saying he's got a few years to mature properly. I think he's a good player for us at the moment but don't really see him progressing a great deal to be perfectly honest. He's 24 now, not exactly a youth player anymore, and 3 years older than Ryan Shawcross.
If people are going to use the 'he's still a young lad and got a couple of years to mature and develop' line then why don't they also use it for Glen Whelan, who's only a few months older?

He'll be 26 then. Many think of him as much younger than he really is, he played his first game for Stoke over 7 years ago. So if he isn't good enough before he's about to get his testimonal, I'm not sure if he's the right player.

When i see wilko in the team for big games like chelsea, manc utd and yesterday i am happy because he has to be switched on for 90 mins but when he and others in our team play fulham and the like they don't do aswell but he was brilliant along with the others apart from the big jamaican baby upfront!

Imust admit -he proved me wrong
just needs to work on his passing and movement now -first half he suddenly realised he was free in the opposing half With the football - and his nose started bleeding
well done ! - but can still improve

if you kept up with the board yesterday, you would have seen him mentioend a cpl of times including my resposne to oen of them. He had a prett ygood game yesterday, still made some of his usual ball watching instead of man watching mistakes, i.e. when Robinho found himself wide open in the penalty area fro ma cross and shot the ball, well if you call it a shot, lamely to Sorenson. He is a decent player, can become a much better player for Stoke, but it will take some time if he keeps playing like he has he will become a good player fot Stoke !!

Not neccessarily. Players mature at different ages just as some are exceptional at a young age and don't go on to make the grade. He seems to me to be a late developer. Can anyone say he has not improved tremendously this last 12 months? Even so, he's only played sporadically and he needs many more games to improve his technique. He will do that by playing alongside experienced players like Abde Faye and playing regularly. IMHO, there are two things he needs to do to continue his progress: he needs to learn how to keep his head and how to distribute the ball better. If he does that, he has a further 5/6 years ahead of him playing at this level or one below and a further few years in the lower leagues.
It's a good point about Glen Whelan. In fact it's a good point about quite a few of our players. This is where a few old heads can help. That was the 'Waddo Way'. This league can be very cruel to novices learning their trade. 'Novices' as in non-Prem experience. Many managers and fans won't tolerate unpredictable performances, hence we're having this discussion about him.

Wilko does a brilliant job as a man marker, apart from the rush of blood he had against Man Ure,he had done a great job in marking Ronaldo and Giggs, yesterday played Robinho very well, now he just needs to add a constructive side to his game

He is a brilliant defender but abit rash at times but we need that commitment and passion to make players around him to take note and fire them up.

A class act, and getting better every game. Still needs to curb his enthusiasm though, he's no good if he's not playing.

I thought he had Robinho "in his pocket" - just that silly tackle two minutes from the end when he went over to kick SWP (and why not?) That's funny because I know Andy, I called him over before the warm down and that's what I said. "Andy. don't for get to Robinho out of your back pocket!"
