It seemed to come from nowhere.
Did Beattie gesture to the fans in the Seddon stand to get it going?

No, Beattie responded to the roar after it started.....It was jst one of those magic moments where the crowd recognised the effort being made I think.

A few got up in the Seddon and urged the players to keep going and the rest of the crowd got behind the team.
Great moment.

was a fantastic moment, i think it did have something to do with the fact that our players begin to get tired and we've conceded goals to man u, and chelsea in the last 10 mins of games that we would have had at least a point from. Great thing to do and surely gave the players that extra lift to keep going. It's also the reason why it was such good subs from pulis putting griff and sonko on.

No idea what started it but sat in the Boothen, watching the Seden stand just start to go mental was such a fantastic site. Like said on other posts, it felt like another scoreline had come through, just like the Ipswich goal against Hull last season.
It just shows me how together we are in the fight to stay up.
Keep it up lads and lasses. You were all superb.

beattie seemed awestruck when he looked round at the seddon stand and boothen end, then he started geeing up the rest of the players, it was like a battle cry but it seemed to lift the players many of who'm were really flagging at the time. it was fookin amazing.

The clock on the screen hot 80 minutes and the place just went daft. I have never experienced anything like it anywhere in football.

I think it was the collective realisation that we were so close to a win that had looked extremely unlikely when Delap was sent off.

I think the Brit has come of age this season and has finally shook off the shadow of the Vic which has burdened it since we moved. Yesterday was an amazing atmosphere...Oh when the Reds was so loud

That last ten minutes was amazing, every person in that crowd should be proud. We have thrown games away in the last ten minutes far too often this season, and what we did gave them the extra push. King Tone has mentioned this in a few interviews I've seen last night and this morning. Excellent guys, well done!!

I have supported Stoke for more years than I care to remember - yesterday the atmosphere was absolutely unbelievable - it was one of those moments when you remeber those you have lost and how PROUD they would have been, I for one thought of my late dad with pride -the togetherness from the team and the supporters was moving beyond belief.

I think it was when us lot in the js thought things were a bit quiet and decided to liven the place up a little. The rest of you were amazed and decided to join in

There was en empty seat in the Seddon cos I'm at work on a rig in the north sea. I managed to catch most of the match on telly but got called out just before Beattie scored! But someone else who was watching paged me and when I phoned them back they told me we'd gone one up! My first reaction was "FOOKIN GET FOOKIN IN!!!", my second reaction was being totally gutted at not being there!
I've been getting goose pimples all over every time I read about how magnificent the home crowd were! Well done everyone, and let's see if we can have more of the same for the rest of the season. ;D
I'll see yuzall at the Pompey game ;D

Agreed.
The challenge now is to keep up this level of noise/support for the less glamorous but equally important matches against the likes of Pompey, Bolton, and Boro when the ground may not be quite full.

I'm welled up reading this thread and remembering the spontaneous roar at 80 mins yesterday. I Dont think Manchester Citeh knew what had hit them, and to see the players responding was a moment I won't forget. (lad sitting near me told me he saw Beattie show his appreciation to the crowd once it had started)

my view from the back of block 24: small section in the seddon starts standing up and shouting come on back of boothen sees this and the whole of the two stands start shouting come on (ROARING) then south stand starts at almost teh same time as the boothen end and then the west stand kicks in. nothing short of fantastic IF THAT DOESNT HELP THE PLAYERS I DONT KNOW WHAT DOES. 10 men we only need 10 men

Quite amazing really as the whole crowd started to back the side, Ethers in particularly looked over-awed by it all.

The best possible explanation that I have seen was that the big screen suddenly switched back to the time, from the MOM votes, and people saw we were into the last 10 minutes and just might do it.
I know, a few moments earlier, I'd turned to my mate and said I wished they'd get that forkin clock back on ;D

At half time I said to my nephew that we would have to defend like never before for the 2nd half. I was as tense as hell all through the half and then we all went mental in the seddon. It was like havin a good shit. I certainly felt a lot more relaxed after that. ;D
