Pugh must now stay as our left back, outstanding game. Also brought Ethers into the game far more than Danny with is endless hoofs up the pitch.

See I didnt think he had a gd game. I thought he left his man far to much space... and didnt have the speed to stay with him... He made far to many errors for my liking... I would keep Higgy where he is

Agree
Danny did really well and ironically may be more suited to the Prem than the Championship

Higgy does very well there considering he is a cb, would love to see him in the middle but you can't drop Ryan

Ok agree Danny far better defender, but the boot forward loses the ball far more times than Pugh did. Put him CB and Faye CM.

Pughs passing in the 1st half was terrible. Danny H all the time for me.
Pughs good back up though.

Lets not forget it was Pugh who put Etherington through for the cross to Beattie. I thought he did very well.

I thought he had a good game. But in the first half gave the ball away to cheaply which on another day could of lost us the game, Higgy should stay there imo.

After a dodgy first 15 minutes I thought he was outstanding for the rest of the game.

He was weak for the first quarter hour, but settled down, worked well with Ethers and did none of the Higgy hoofs that give the ball away so much.

Personally thought Pugh had an outstanding game yesterday, toss up for M-o-M between him and Shawcross for me!!!
Earlier in the season when he wasn't playing I thought it would be better for the player and club alike if he were to move on, BUT I for one am hoping Pulis does NOT do this now, he's definately a very good squad player for us!!!
Go on Pughie lad!!!
Oh, and by-the-way, sorry WM, but it was Whelan, who put Ether's through with that lovely pass!!!

pugh took the long throw that lead to him laying the ball off to whelan who then hoofed it blindly up the line, to a matty eth who then crossed the ball aimlesly into the box where the ball hit beattie on the head whilst he was reading the oatcake, and somehow it ended up in the net. Now thats how you play footy ;D

It was refreshing to see a left back
a) going forward
b) linking up with the winger
2 things we miss greatly in our set up it caused man city problems, and Etherington was more in the game because of it

Away from home I'd play Higgy, because we need to keep it tight at the back. At home I'd play Pugh, because he is good going forwards.

Higginbotham is far better defensively but Pugh is better going forward and makes us keep the ball better.

Pugh should be a contender for CM, his best games for us have been there. Newcastle at home in the cup last season he was MOM.
