Couple of things he got wrong
>Stoke player got fouled, Ettherington picked ball up in loads of space. He called it back. 15minutes later exactly same thing happen with Robinio...He let man city have the advantage >Delaps sending off. if one goes they both go. SWP bad challenge on Etthers, made the most of the challenge from Rory, kicked Rory, Rory kicked the ball at him >Elano should have gone for the abuse he was giving Atkinson, if it was Fuller, the secong yellow would have coem out, 100% >Ricardo was constantly been tugged at and pulled at nothing was done >Fuller got brought down on the edge of the area, play on
Bad performance from all officials today

www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A46760312 A Stoke fan is making same point on the 606 boards. Respect's a 2-way street. I'd like Atkinson to describe exactly why Wright-Phillips and Elano were allowed to stay on the pitch today. Having been booked, Elano's 60-second haranguing of Atkinson was just demanding a second yellow. His failure to produce 2 reds was bringing the game into disrepute. Lily-livered pandering to the high-profile clubs that makes you vomit. While it continues that the high-profile players have to saw off someone's head with an electric chainsaw to get booked, let alone sent-off, claims of a level playing field are for the birds. An absolute farce.

While it continues that the high-profile players have to saw off someone's head with an electric chainsaw to get booked, let alone sent-off, claims of a level playing field are for the birds. An absolute farce. Yeah. What was the difference between Elano's antics and those of the already-booked Javier Mascherano at Old Trafford? And Mascherano hadn't also been guilty of kicking the ball away, earlier in the game.

just watched the recording. No way was it a pen. Two players tried to out strength each other, Griff fell over , Richards fell over him. No sending off either, what are they fairies booking at worst. If it was a sending off then SWP had to walk as well.

The penalty? Looked like Richards (?) pulled Griff down then Griff fell tripping Richards in the process. Free kick to Stoke for me.
Other very dodgy decision was towards the end when Beattie was just about to head the ball in the penalty area and Kompany volleyed the ball away. Now Beattie must be 6' 2" and he wasn't stooping. Must have been an indirect free kick in the penalty area for high kicking? Surely?

I'm beginning to expect these performances from officials. This division appears to be set up solely to showcase the so-called big teams. The refs operate one standard for the smaller teams and a much more lenient one for the rest. It is frustrating beyond belief but we are consistently seeing our players booked or red carded for offences that dont even merit a foul for the opposition. I suppose we'll have to get used to it as I can't see it changing.
I wonder why the fight between the two Man city players towards the end of the game only resulted in a little chat and arm round the shoulder from the ref when we all now that it's a straight red card offence.

Without bleating on too much, I thought that, overall, the officials were shit.

To be fair to the referee those plush retirement homes in Dubai are not cheap so there was no way he could afford to upset the Sheikh sat up in the top tier of the Main Stand.
