How many times have we had this discussion? I knew soon as they said it on radio stoke, that some fans had contacted the club to say turn the speakers off and let the stokies make some noise!!!!
Make some noise!!! That was the biggest shambles! The ground half empty and only citeh fans singing.
Never ever turn off the speakers again stoke!!
Now will you listen (to the music). Muppets!

The 5 mins before kick off they should be off! The music is deafening and today before KO we were making noise!

It sounded brilliant on telly, there was an awesome "Oh When The Reds" just before kickoff that was one of the best I've ever heard.
But I've always thought that it wouldn't work, mainly because the majority of the singers are still in the concourse, having a bevvy.

totally agree, that delilah was gringeworthy!
why even bother to attempt that when nobody has had time for a few pints on a cold midday before kickoff when the ground is half empty.
Good result though Stoke, great performance.

Only the brain dead ever thought it would work. They'll never do it again. When we are away from home we always sing from when we get in the ground, that's what away fans do, and that's why like at Bolton, they turned the music up to drown us out. Home fans just don't, simple as that. When the match kicks off we are loud a fuck. Keep it that way!

Drink or sing?
Drink.
The few minutes before kick-off (after we run out) are always good, but the ten minutes up to that point sounded rubbish (on telly and on radio stoke). I conner see them repeating it in a hurry.

Why do these things have to be decided in advance and put in the press etc?
If we're loud - don't drown us out - if we're quiet - keep the music on!
Does the man in the control booth not know how to adjust the volume?
Just play it by ear!

What's wrong with just not playing any music at all?

I wonder if a football match will break out at the Kings of Leon gig I'm going to in June.
Tannoyed music at that noise level is crap, small-time and Americanises our game.
I'd prefer the silence we had today to be honest. Citeh were loud at 12.440pm but not a squeek during the game from them.

sportsman, you really are a little prick. Despite the unsuccessful try at leaving the tannoy off I don't think yhe people who suggested it are idiots.

Sportsman, I'm one of the 'brain dead idiots' that was glad to hear we wouldn't have to put up with that fucking thumping Eminem racket which prevents conversation, singing or conscious thought. What about it, you penis...

Thank you. An always right fucking bellend don't forget!
How did your singing go for your ten minutes of fame? Did you lose you're voice? When they announced they are turning off the PA they didn't mean the stoke fans as well!!!

I go to the football matches to watch football and experience the atmosphere created by both sets of fans, not to listen to music. It was quieter than usaul before kick off mainly because of the early start. I hope they continue to turn te tannoy off early and let the noise develop naturally.

Quiet. It was like being at the highbury library!!! Come on, you've got to admit that was a total balls up.
Certainly made up for it when the game started though. That's when it counts and when you need the singing at full volume.
Well done to all that sang their hearts out today.
