100% correct mumf, a clear kick at Rory and they should have both gone. Unfortunatley it was just one in a long line of head scratching decisions by another awful referee. How Elano (I think) didn't get booked when he chased the ref 50 yards is beyond me. As I said the other day, I have been told by a very good source that the Premier referees have been "advised" to only discipline the big names when they absolutely have no choice as apparently "SKY have paid a lot of money for the coverage and the viewers want to see the big names out on the pitch" Disgraceful.

SWP went over the ball and caught Whelan? I think and Delap reacted by tripping him and kicking the ball against him. Then SWP kicked out at Delap. Well that's how I saw it! How the hell didn't the ref see the first foul by SWP and his kick at Delap? It was the ref's fault and whatever he did to Delap he should have done the same to SWP. Each should have been booked. The ref bottled it!

SWP is a cheat and on today's evidence even his 'dad' can't deny it.

And the liner was looking directly at it!!!, surely something has to be done , again the lesser sides dont get the decisions, but who cares we got 3 brilliant points and the lads were brave and defended heroically.

Hopefully SWP will retrospectively be disciplined. And pigs might fly. Disgraceful stuff from the referee. Their default setting is to treat the big clubs with kid gloves and hammer the little guys. I'd like to think the ref didn't see it properly. If he did, what Atkinson did was blatant cheating.

Elano also kicked the ball away at one point in the second half, didn't he? What sums it up for me is the fact that so much venom was directed towards the referee, SWP and Micah Richards, Craig Bellamy must have thought he was on holiday.

who was it that persisted on following and arguing with the referee down the pitch about a desicion? Was it Elano? That was a disagrace, the referee also bottling decisions.

Yeah, some excellent venom from the stands today. It really got everyone going and spurred the boys on. I thought the roar that went up late on when Tommy was taking his goal kick summed up our excellent backing of the boys. Top stuff.

Even if it was a clean tackle I notice Hughes doesn't mention that little fucking dwarf kicking out at Rory.

Elano kicked the ball at the the ref. Later he conducted a 30 second ticking off to the ref - no action.
SWP red card tackle on Etherington, kick at Delap, gesturing to the crowd - no action.
For those of us behind the dugout, the antics of their 40 coaches was disgraceful - no action.

Disgraceful scenes involving the Delap incident in terms of the ref, linesman and SWP! Once again the officals are looking after the premiership mard arses! How can Hughes say it was clean tackle i don't know, the to$$er.

When we all stood booing and whistleing for about 10 mins was amazing. Never heard anything like it, what a noise!
Thought the atmosphere was great again today, although the Robinho chant got a bit boring having been sung about 5,000 times.

Elano chasing the referee around the pitch reminded me of the already-booked Mascherano at Old Trafford. Can someone remind me of what action the referee took on that occasion?

Hughes is one of the worst managers in the Prem. Another former player who thinks he cam mange. Not a clue. The longer these idiots are appointed, the more chance of us surviving.
At least we have a smashing manager.

It was a rhetorical question, Jiggz; Mascherano was shown a second yellow and had to bathe alone.

Just watched sky.SWP actually made a good tackle.Rory's reaction wouldn't even have been a booking not so long ago.SWP retaliated and should have been Red. Elano had been booked and should have been booked again( and sent off) for 1 Kicking the ball away and 2 constantly arguing with the ref.
