He did well but I'm sorry his passing was woeful. Thank the lord for some sanity. Pugh gave the ball away time after time today. His passing on the whole was very poor and he consistantly played the ball without looking where the man was. Was his passing more woeful than some of the prima donna's from Abu Dhabi City? I thought he did exceptionally well.

We have a new toy for these disputes. Pugh seems to have made 4 unsuccessful passes today (plus 4 unsuccessful throws, if anyone queries the total of 8 on the link ) - 4 more successful passes than any other player for Stoke (Etherington). www.guardian.co.uk/football/chalkboards/create

Pugh looked better at full back than he does in the championship. He has more time on the ball. Whelan was average at best. Ryan S was easily MOM

Pugh was certainly way better than I feared, fair play to him. I'd stick with Beattie or (yet again) Shawcross as MoM though.

Pugh had a good game, but Etherington was star man for me today. Just excellent, superb assist, and his jinking runs in the second half took the pressure off us massively. Shawcross was tremendous as well.
