I thought he was positive, committed and played one of his best games for Stoke.
Beatts and Ryan were class again too.
So so so proud.
Well done Stoke, you've made my day.

Yep, shaky start but improved immensely! He played very well, Whelan put in a great shift as well but I thought Shawcross was my MOM, he just got to everything. Although I've no complaints for Beattie getting it, great finish....3 games, 1 assist and 2 goals....a TOTAL steel for 2.5 million in the PREM!

Everyone played well, even Creser worked araarrddd for 45 mins. Pugh or Ryan for me.
Pugh deserves to keep his place somewhere next week - in the middle for Wheelo, if I'm honest, though Wheelo had a decent game ... So maybe for lil-faye?
Anyhoo .... GGOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRNNNNNN Stoke

Yeah I like Pugh he does try to play a bit of football which is unusual for one of our players (especially at left back). Hes one who doesnt just look to hoof it straight away if there is a better option. He also took it past a few players and made some good runs with the ball today.
I thought Whelan was pretty invisible again today tbh. He doesnt do anything obviously bad but thats because he doesnt get involved enough for a centre mid player. I think its crying out for Liam or Pugh to take his place in the centre
Beattie what a class finish though! Gotta be the best natural goalscorer we have had since Steino? Could reach double figures before the end of the season at this rate

Shawcross gets better & has got better with each game. Just to think earlier in the season we were thinking of loaning him out

My man Danny Pugh! Again proves all the doubters and the tosser saying he should be sold that he is can hold his own in the 1st team.
I've said it several times over the past few weeks since the Chelsea game that Pugh should be starting.
Unlike Whelan in midfield he actually makes an impact and at LB today he did his job admirably sure a few early balls went astray but otherwise as usual he never hide, never shirked the job and pushed forward at every given opportunity.
In my opinion he is a player who suits the Premier League more than the Championship. Etherington was also fantastic today carried the ball excellently and his inter passing with Pugh for the goal was excellent.
I must say Beattie's finishing was absolutely cynical - exactly what we've been missing - Fuller and his goal in every 5 or so ain't nothing compared to this man!
The wanker of the match was obviously the inept twat with the whistle!

Pugh has been outstanding recently, another great game today.
Shawcross is really creeping up on the blind side for player of the season. How much will he be worth come the end of the season at this rate?
Beattie is just made for this Stoke team.

Whelan has been carried in every bloody game! He was the reason we lost to Chelsea and completely invisible in all other games - gets a nose bleed over the halfway line. Sorry but he is utterly useless in the Prem - even in the Championship he was distinctly average. Pugh has been head & shoulders above him in everytime he's been given the chance. I think the old chant of: He's here He's there He's every fuckin' where Danny Pugh Should be resurrected for the man!

I'd say his performance was definately up there with Ethers, Ryan and Beattie and it was good seeing a left back attempting to keep the ball, trying to find a better option in terms of passing instead of just aimlessly hoofing forward. That's something we need desperately at the back IMO

shawcross for me again
i just hope he stays here, i really think he could be a stoke legend and a future captain of the club
i couldn't believe it earlier this season when some were saying he should go on loan to ipswich
he's at exactly the right age to learn and coming into the prem at that age has been crucial, there's no limits to what he can achieve

Apart from that it was poor His first 3 went to Man City players and from there I didn't notice it so I guess it was ok He did do well though and I was surprised at how well he did truth be told. I was expecting Zidane like passing though after reading the stuff on here. I did chuckle when his first 3 were shite. But he was solid and did link up well with Etherington. I thought Wilko played better but there You go

He did well but I'm sorry his passing was woeful. Thank the lord for some sanity. Pugh gave the ball away time after time today. His passing on the whole was very poor and he consistantly played the ball without looking where the man was.
