SWP should have been yellow carded for the tackle on whelan and then sent off for the kick back at Delap. Outcome - nothing for SWP Typical for this ref so far....

To be fair Rory yellow for foul but the ref had not blown and Rory kicked the ball into SWP and there nothing wrong with that. SWP at least yellow for kicking out.

... Rush of blood by Rory, no need at all, I think he was pissed off at the 50/50 on whelan Having seen the replay, it wasn't the best tackle from SWP, but it wasn't as bad as I first thought. Whatever, it was stupid from rory (asking for a sending off in today's climate) ah

Firstly SWP (aka the cheating wanker, c*nt, fucking twat) should of been sent off for the 'tackle' on Etherington - nowhere near the ball foot up - dangerous play. The Rory minor kick at the cheating wanker, c*nt, fucking twat ankles ensured he went down like he'd been shot - the way he threw himself to the ground was pathetic. Rory then kicked the ball which was in his chest - WTF is Rory supposed to do stand off and wait til the ball is clear then kick it? Then the the cheating wanker, c*nt, fucking twat kicked out at Rory! Basically the Ref lost all control from the point of the foot up challenge by the cheating wanker, c*nt, fucking twat. At that point he should of blown up for a foul and sent him off! Obviously it's bad karma for any c*nt in black to visit the Britannia and not to send off a Stoke player! I pray to god we hold on and win - karma will rectify it!

Wright Phillips is an utter prick for that, can't begin to understand why he wasn't carded for kicking out.

The ref caused the situation by not giving the free kick for the foul on Etherington.

What foul on Etherington? SWP lunged in a bit but he won the ball.

Foot high and off the ground, its a dangerous tackle. He won the ball in the same way that Rory kicked the ball.

Tackle was worth a yellow. When I first saw it, I thought a red, but on a couple of replays he did pull his other foot back (so not really two footed). Was studs up thoughh.
If the fould had been given, rory wouldn't have lost the plot. But that's no excuse, he still shouldn't lose the plot. We have to cut all this daft stuff out. Yeah, it worked out today, but often this season it hasn't. Bad tackles is one thing, stupidity is another entirely (though this wasn't as bad as Fuller & Griff; it was worse than Wilko v manure ... and probably lil-faye up at boro)

Oh come off it. If a Stoke player had made that tackle and the ref had given a foul we'd be livid, and saying that tackling is not allowed in the modern game any more. Since when does your foot have to be on the ground to tackle someone? It wasn't two-footed, it wasn't dangerous and he won the ball. Rory was an idiot to get angry enough to firstly hack him down and then smack the ball at him after the whistle had gone.

Studs were showing PL so its dangerous, he got some off the ball but he also got some of Etherington.
Like you said he lunged in.

Erm no if a Stoke player made the same 'tackle/foot up lunge' that the the cheating wanker, c*nt, fucking twat had made the wanker with the whistle would of had friction burns from pulling out the red card! He lunged, foot up with studs showing with intent = Red Card. You could tell from his reaction that he expected a card but the twat with the whistle just let things continue.

Badly handled by a slightly better referee than we're used to. Thought SWP should have had the same punishment - a yellow each would have sufficed - but having said that I wouldn't change anything now!

Interesting to see if we appeal and what the ref gave the red card for
Rory gave SWP a clip around the ankles and he went down. Rory then kicked the ball (which was still in play) at SWP
My take on it is that the tackle from Rory was a yellow and as the ball was still in play when Delap kicked it at SWP then that is OK
A yellow for the lash out by SWP should then have been given

He perhaps should have sent off No. 4 to deflate things on 29 minutes. He perhaps should have stopped play and sent off Wright-Phillips before the incident. The very last thing he should have done was send off Rory.
4 red cards for Man City would have been more sensible (including the two who ran in and punched Rory in the face).

With any sensible ref Delap would have had a yellow, it was a foul by Wright Phillips and Delap was sent off mainly because of the reaction by the city players, I think Stoke should appeal to try and get it reduced to a yellow
