He's done nothing in Portugal. Now for the next stop in Bangoura's world tour.
Boavista striker Sambegou Bangoura has been loaned to Spanish second division side Cadiz until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old, who moved to Bwin Liga following a brilliant spell in Belgium with Lokeren and Standard, failed to impose himself in the Portuguese top flight and has been loaned to Spain with an option for a £300,000 permanent move.
The African previously played for Stoke City, where he scored nine goals in 28 games between 2005 and 2007.
The striker is now ready to revive his career with Cadiz and will push to earn a permanent move to Spain.

Surely, that is bad news for us, as didn't we have clauses inserted, that if he scored 'X' amount of goals for Boavista.

An all-round bad egg you would have to conclude?
Still think we could have coaxed more golas out of him when we needed strikers last year though? ???

Craig:
did you ever hear his "agent" on RS last season?
Jeez, was he a wide boy (and, no, that's not "wide" in a Jon Parkin sense, believe me.)
So sadly, his only advice may have been, "let's get ano signing on fee, quick. Innit?"

RSB,I was going to stick a smiley after the comment, but thought better.Between them they've both managed to bugger his career.

Ed de Goey described Sammy to a mate of mine as "the laziest player I have ever seen"*, before he'd made his home debut. Apparently he showed up, ran a lap of the pitch and fecked off at his first training session. Me and said friend sat through the debut already hacked off that we'd got this lazy shit guy, but soon changed our minds when the goals started coming, and soon after discovered that De Goey was onto something.
*this was before The Parkin Years.

Quite possible the biggest waste of time Stoke ever signed. The ability was there, but christ it was like getting a diamond from a lump of Hem Heath Vintage!

I rememebr seeing him and Adam Rooney doing fitness training together last season. Rooney was recovering from a gammy knee and Bangoura was being made to do fitness training. Anyway, Scouse went over to Bangoura and told him to do a lap of the pitch and head up to the main squad while he spoke to Rooney. Bangoura jogged off very slowly and got to around halfway around the pitch when Rooney, with has dodgy leg, managed to overtake him very quickly, going only at normal speed. Rooney arrived with the squad a full five minutes (no exagerration) before Bangoura arrived.

We are so well rid of Sammy, he sounds like he's determined to blow it all before he's even managed to arrive. Can't help wishing Mama had a tenth of his ability to score, or that he'd had a tenth of Mama's character.
stokiejim, oi. Come here and try calling people criples (or even cripples).

bangoura had a good shot and a few tricks but what a waster. he is an absolute prick. pulis may have treated him like shit but he deserved it. can't believe how the guy was so good at first and went awol and was complete shite when he came back.
ask yourself who would you rather have? sam bangoura or ricardo fuller?

wasnt it bang bang who was arrested on his way into the country at East Mids? Oh and how was he rated in Belgium? A friend who supports Sint Truiden saw him against FC Bruselles, and agreed he was a lazy shit

A friend who supports Sint Truiden saw him against FC Bruselles, and agreed he was a lazy shit He was a lazy shit, but he can score goals when he decides he wants to turn up, if i remember rightly he went on a decent run when he arrived (9 in 10 games?), then he went to the ANC and came back (eventually) a different player and couldn't score for toffee. One day hell look back on his career and wonder what could have been, he had the potential just not the right attitude.

That was part of the problem, just which Sammy would turn up? The guy who could hit em from 25 yards & be a potential star,or the one who couldnt hit a barn door...and wasnt their suppose to be intrest in him from a Russian club, when he had his ANC form?
