Team:
Sorensen
Griffin Shawcross Ab. Faye Higginbotham
Lawrence Whelan Delap Etherington
Fuller Beattie
Subs: Simonsen, Wilkinson, Davies, Olofinjana, Pugh, Cresswell, Kitson.
Prediction: 1-0 thanks to a late Beattie penalty.

Team: Sorensen Griffin Shawcross Ab. Faye Higginbotham Lawrence Whelan Delap Etherington Fuller Beattie Subs: Simonsen, Wilkinson, Davies, Olofinjana, Pugh, Cresswell, Kitson That's the exact same starting XI i always play on Fifa 09, as it is the probably the strongest line up we have at the moment, i fear however Mr Cresswell may be in there though

Its becoming a must win game, Draws in games like this are no good to us at home. If we lose we could be bottom......Not a happy thought.

After the Spurs match does anyone feel we have the slightest chance of beating any other team than perhaps WBA this season. We were absolutely pathetic on Tuesday, so why should Saturday be any better. Where's the evidence or any optimism?

If we can hold Chelsea away for 88 mins..stop Liverpool from beating us..home and away..beat Villa...almost beat Man U..then surely we can 3 points against City...
Thats the only way to approach this game..anything else and we've lost before we kick a ball...

Lawro says: Stoke v Man City Stoke have not won in nine league matches and are in a lot of trouble. I don't think this is match when they'll turn their fortunes around. City might start to go on a little bit of a run now. New players are still coming in, which will give them an extra boost. Not many have won at the Britannia, but I'm going for an away win. Verdict: 0-2 Problem is, I agree with him - if we can't get that fighting spirit back which seemed to have deserted us at Spurs, things could start looking pretty grim.

At home i honestly think we stand a good chance, we haven't played anywhere near as poorly at home as we have away.
True there have been tepid times during matches (Fulham and Hull off the top of my head)
But we've proved that against sides like Arsenal, Man Utd, Villa & Liverpool that we can do more than compete, at the start of the season i wouldn't have thought we'd have got anything from those four fixtures, but 7 points from those, fantastico.
With a full Britannia Stadium roaring them on, this side should produce 100%, that's why optimism exists, so i can see us getting something from this fixture, and that includes a victory against a Man City side that has an indifferent away record.

What a sexy line up (see above for my prediction) PROBABLE TEAMS Stoke: Sorensen, Griffin, Higginbotham Shawcross, Ab Faye, Lawrence, Delap, Whelan, Etherington, Beattie, Fuller. Man City: Hart, Richards, Onuoha, Kompany, Bridge, Ireland, De Jong. Zabaleta, Wright-Phillips, Bellamy, Robinho. www.whydelilah.co.uk/news/30_Jan_2009/Vital+statistics:+Stoke+City+vs+Manchester+City.htmlThe thing that scares the hell out of me in their team is the pace they possess.
