Ok, bad result and performance last night against a team that won the league cup last year and has some very good players.
If you look at the big picture there are probably three games left where I don't see us getting any points (THREE GAMES).
I can see people's frustration but we were promoted last season with a team that probably wouldn't be this season, yes the manager has made a couple of mistakes but he is still learning - anything better than what Derby did last season is better than the pundits and bookies predicted at the start of the season and I still think we will stay up.
It's not like last night we were cut adrift by 6 points or anything we are still six points away from the top ten (albeit playing a game more).
Just lets have some common sense, we always knew January was going to be a very difficult month - lets concentrate on what's coming next and get behind the boys in the vital games about to come up.

The way last night went - if Tone doesn't pull plan B out of the filing cabinet - there will be only 3 games where we will get points!

They have, on paper, one of the top 6 squads in the division, and now have one of the top managers in the division. It is nowhere near as bad as people make out.

Oh here we go again with the excuses, exactly the same after Man City. I tell you what, why the fuck do we even bother turning up to play these teams then? Last night was again gutless capitulation, we never had any intention of attacking and let them run at us and make us look absolute twats. We didn't even give it a go.
And only once have they kept a clean sheet, so clearly the money has done fuck all.

It really is insulting to posters to suggest a reality check is taken because we are playing spurs...we didnt need a reality check when we held Manure or should have beaten liverpool or robbed at stamford bridge...teams spending more than Spurs...Reality is we were not up for the game seemed to be in awe of a team we had already beaten and sat back and said come on spurs heres the ball we will sit back and admire. Reality check FFS!

All week the concensus of opinion has been that Spurs are a shambles and we should have a real go at them.
Now TP's tactical ineptitude has fucked us over again, we should just be grateful that we even got to play Spurs and they have a squad worthy of the Champion's League?
Make your minds up.

I love this saying "They have on paper" we have on paper better players, far better players than Derby and Harlepool they managed to turn us over

It is interesting how before the game spurs are shite and we are all confidently predicting a win, then after we lose some of those same people say hey reality check, this spurs team are world beaters!! Come on guys be fair, it's either one or the other.
Fact is that was a game that we should have attacked, looking for points and we failed dismally, again. Not good enough TP, not good enough by a damn sight!

It's insulting to suggest that if we get beat away to a cup holding, cup finalist team still in the Uefa cup littered with current internationals that yes we have already beat this season but they were not stable then - they are now. If we get beat by Sunderland, Portsmouth and Middlesborough then I think it is well and truly panic stations but I fail to beleive that ANYONE expected us to beat Spurs away before the season started.

HP,
It's not about beating Spurs is it. It's about TRYING to beat Spurs.
We have the worst away record in all of England (including the Conference) and yet we keep trying the same thing match after match after match!?

The way last night went - if Tone doesn't pull plan B out of the filing cabinet - there will be only 3 games where we will get points! Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke: "The first-half just wasn't good enough. There was no spirit and we weren't competitive. "In the second half, we rolled up our sleeves and scored but the first half was as bad as we've played all season." The result leaves the Potters 19th in the Premier League and still looking for their first away win of the season. "It's happened too many times this season where we've gone away from home and started very slowly," said Pulis. "You can say that Spurs played well and their second goal was a good one but when we're up for the game and on the front foot things like that don't happen. "You can't go away in the Premier League and wait for things to happen, you've got make them happen," he added. Doesn't sound to me like sitting backand defending were in his tactics at all last night. Yes TP can be found wanting at times re: team selection etc. but there are times when the players just don't perform, even when TP wants them to attack!! TP gets things wrong it's true but last night the players were just spineless!

No matter how much they've spent they are our rivals at the bottom.
The reality check should be that we got thrashed first half by team that is still in a dog fight like ourselves and it simply wasn't good enough..

HP, It's not about beating Spurs is it. It's about TRYING to beat Spurs. We have the worst away record in all of England (including the Conference) and yet we keep trying the same thing match after match after match!? That, for me, is about the size of it. I, like I suspect the vast majority of people on here, have absolutely no problem with being outclassed; this is, after all, our first season back in the top flight. What I find really hard to swallow is the knowledge that we're not giving ourselves a chance away from home and, more often than not, hopes of victory have evaporated before a ball has even been kicked.

Isn't it the managers job to get the team prepared, motivated and up and at the opposition from the first whistle...why can we do it sometimes but not all the time...the answer is probably a complex one...but a week doing bugger all in Dubai surely didnt help
