It was a poor tackle in all fairness. And with that thug Robinson his reputation precedes him so knowing him he probably meant to hurt him. He is a dirty thuggish cunt. Saying that if it was a Stoke player that got sent off for it I'd feel agrieved.

Bayernoatcake, you cant send someone off on reputation though surely But when he goes in stud showing and gets Park in his side it all adds up to him being a thug. It was a reckless tackle and one that warranted a yellow card imo but You can see why he walked (I think You can anyway). And no reputation shouldn't come into it but it often does.

Bayernoatcake, you cant send someone off on reputation though surely Fuller at West Ham. You can argue the violent conduct rule but still bit harsh

I have just watched the WBA game and I agree with bayernoatcake. From the refs viewpoint it certainly looks worse than the view from the touchline. WBA fans were having a go at a few decisions yesterday but the officials got the Carson mistake correct and the Berbatov/Ronaldo offside decisions for the 4th? goal were spot on. If I was at the game I can understand frustrations running high but hopefully after 24hrs reflection WBA fans may concede that Styles was not as bad as first thought. Still doesn't excuse his over officious nature though & his apparent eagerness to penalise WBA on minor decisions but not the opposition.

It was a 'poor tackle', bayern, agreed, but if we had a player sent of for a similar tackle, I'd be right pissed off. Poortackle yes, red card poor, no way, except of course against Manure.

Oh I'd be seething but I think with his reputation and the fact he caught Park meant that he was going. The fact he caught him in his side will play a big part of the decision too. He did go in with studs and if You do that nowadays You're asking for trouble.

The fact is that we've all been complaining about us suffering from reputation, such as Delap getting booked because Walcott injured himself while diving over him. This is no different.
Poor challenge + bad reputation + playing against ManUre = Red Card.

No way a sending off. What I cant understand is why he didnt consult the linesman on that side before whipping his cards out.
But no he was out with them that fast the buttons on his shirt nearly took Giggs eye out.
Contrast that with that cunt' on Boxing Day who had the same opportunity with Rooney and Greaser before he did for our lad

There is no doubt that if the tackled player is injured (or feigns injury) then that influences the referee. Tackles in the middle of the pitch tend to go unpunished if the player gets up straight away. If he stays down "injured" then the ref is more likely to book the offender (or worse).

But no he was out with them that fast the buttons on his shirt nearly took Giggs eye out. Contrast that with that cunt' on Boxing Day who had the same opportunity with Rooney and Greaser before he did for our lad I had an interesting chat about Premier referees and their lack of red cards for "big name" players last night. I won't name names but I have indirectly heard of a referees forum evening that happned recently which was chaired by a current Premier referee. He told a group of Premier reserve standard refs that a chat had taken place with the F.A./ Premier League which went along the lines of "the T.V. companies pay a lot of money to get the coverage and it's money we can't afford to lose. They pay the money so people can see the big name players play, so only book or send off these players if you have absolutely no option to" Now I had this information passed to me second hand but the lad is someone I've known a long time who knows this referee, so I have no reason to doubt what he told me (although I can't speak for the ref himself.) I have to say it doesn't surprise me though if it has been said.
