I know its probably been covered and wheel me if you wish, I am just bemused as to how neither played any part in last night's shambolic performance?!.
Cresswell over Kitson. Ok, neither has scored this season but you would of bet your bottom dollar that Kitson would of done better at that header then Cresswell attempted. Bottom line, why the ferk do we persist with Cresswell!?!?!. Does this now mean that our £5.5mill record purchase is deemed surplus to requirements just because he may not run around like a headless chicken?.
As for Liam, Im totally confused and frustrated. Other than Etherington, Lawrence is by far our most creative midfielder who can also hit a sweet free-kick, ever since the whole "dog" incident, Lawrence has hardly bloody featured. Why are we playing a central midfielder/ utility man on the right wing when we have a decent right winger who can cross a ball sat on the bench!?! FFS!!. I for one would be gutted if Liam left now.
So whats the deal Pulis?! why all the negative tactics, the sit back and hope for the best away approach, if your going to play a 4-3-3 (unheard of to TP), then surely, Beatts - Fuller - Kitson is going to be more effective?.
I am starting to worry as we are really struggling at present, ok, we never expected much from this month, it's been bloody tough and we were all celebrating a point against Liverpool and were seriously unlucky against Chelsea, but last night we were shocking for the first half and that worries me. We struggle to mark fast players and give them a lot of room, FFS we have Bellamy this weekend.
The real worrying factor is Pulis's stubborness. He seems to think this away tactic or defend, defend, defend is working when we haven't won away all season. I wish he would wake up and smell the coffee. The guy has done well for us, but please don't mess it all up now Pulis. We were credited with our defensive no nonsense displays last season and this season, but something is not working and the problem is I don't know whether Pulis see's it.
This is an important week this week, the final week of the window, we are just off the bottom due to goal difference and we need to attract some sort of quality to propel us out of the bottom three, we are lucky at the fact that the teams above us are not far infront of us and a potential win could see us shoot up the table. Im worried that I cannot see where this win is coming from.
I know I will get a lot of crap and abuse for this and accused of being negative, but nothing could be further from the truth. Im trying to take positives out of last night, Beattie is one. I just hate seeing the team down there and felt like I wanted to share my concerns to see if anyone else felt the same.

There are constant rumours linking Lawrence out of Stoke and if TP carries on it'll become a reality fast. Same with Kits. He may not have had the best of starts for Stoke but to put him behind Cresswell in the pecking order?!? Absolutely ridiculous. Not sure what he could have done to the shambolic first 45 yesterday but at the Lane, his boyhood club, with a record playing against Spurs, you'd have surely fancied Kits to be fired up. I don't blame him if he's unhappy and wants to leave

fair enough post, join the queue of people who are totally fucked off at seeing the likes of fuller, kitson and lawrence on the bench and cresswell and delap looking as though they are un-droppable. 5 days left, forget about signing any strikers - we don't need them, get some fucking quality midfielders in now pulis. ffs

A good, honest opinion containing a good deal of truth...
It's like watching an hour glass;
15 games to go - if we beat these then... 14 games to go - yeah, we just need a result at XXX, if so... 13 games to go - right, three points here and we're ok...
Sadly, the sands are beginning to disappear.
Realistically, we were never going to get much in January. The worrying thing is we haven't showed much to believe we might come good against the other relegation battlers.
Our football is sub-Championship and Burnley is clear evidence.

im sick of the way we play footy, alright we made it into the prem but we are ugly and its not working.unfortunately as long as pulis is here its never gonna change and i wish he d fuck off so we can start playing football as it should be played. to be honest we are no better off than the baggies and at least they give their crowd (barring last night)football that one can relate to!

I for one agree with pulis most of the time with his style of play and the players who he puts on,but he has his ways and sticks by it.I think we need to start playing to our strengths and get rid of the dead weight i.e cresswell and pulis needs to open his eyes and look at the options we have like lawrence and kitson.

Spot on post. Why is it that ALL Stoke fans can see what is obvious, and Pulis cannot. Creswell works his bollox off, granted, but this is the Prem and quality plus hard work is required. Sadly Creswell although has been a great servant to the club and Pulis must be dropped. Kitson at £5.5M although has not hit anywhere near the form he should, he MUST be on the pitch to get going. There must be something in the Lenny Pulis thing cuz if he is not fit then bloody well say so.
Its going to be difficult now but I still feel that if we set up to be more attacking away from home we will be safe.
I WOULD RATHER LOOSE 3 - 1 HAVING A REAL GO THAN LOOSE BY THE SAME SCORE TRYING TO DEFEND.
LETS GET BACK ON THE WINNING TRAIL ON SATDEE.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONN STOKE!!!

No one can knock the Liverpool and Chelsea performances but there is a time where you have to stop saying 'Well we lost but we deserved something'. Closer it gets to the end of the season it isn't what we should have got, it is what we need to get. We can't sit on a forum saying 'Well we pushed Chelsea until 89 minutes' if we're not turning up for games against the teams around us. Cliche time but the games against fellow strugglers (and there is plenty of them) should be seen as a cup final every time. There is no shame in losing to Chelsea, Manura, Liverpool, etc but losing to the teams around us will inevitably lose us a position in the Prem. And the saddest thing about relegation is that the wholesale of players is inevitable...apart from Cresswell. He'll still be around.

We were woeful in the first half hour. Abdy Faye went off because he was throwing up? I suspect it was Wilko who was throwing up coz his head must have been spinning after Lennon run him ragged in the first 20mins. Modric was given acres to play in and we cannot allow quality players like him that sort of room in midfield or they will crucify you has demonstrated by Stoke last night. Just remember that Spurs have got some world class players when on their game Bentley was raved about at Blackburn and was going to be the new Becks. You dont lose it overnight and Harry has obviously put a size ten up his arse! Lennon is an England international and Pavlychenko is a Russian international striker. With players of that quality we are always going to be fighting an uphill struggle with the likes of Cresswell and Whelan in the side. We are not playing Championship teams now, we are playing some of the best teams in Europe and judging by last night are struggling to live with them! It could be the same again Saturday because City are loaded with quality players and we may again struggle to live with them. However, we are here for the journey so lets get behind the lads, give the oppostion a load of shit and roar Stoke onto Victory! Come on Stoke! ;D

GOARNNN STOKE I agree with everything you said. I real fear relegation now. The performance last night was shocking. In fairness to Cresswell he did not look as bad watching the replays this morning on fottball first as he did last night in the flesh but that could be because everyone bar Shawcross, Beatie and Erthington were shocking.

Near wins are not enough we need points and we have to win some games away and I honestly cant see when that will happen. I cant believe he played Cresswell up front over Fuller and Kitson. Mind you a chap next to me at the game last night stated he overheard Kitson before the game say he couldn't wait to leave stoke and coming here was the biggest mistake he had made.

If we do get relegated, which player in Stokes squad would be of interest to strenghten a premiership team.
The answer would be nobody that could command big money, thats the massive gap between premiership and championship type players.27 million and other than big faye we have no assets realy. Also there are some good footballing type sides now in the championship in Woves,Swansea,Cardiff,Burnley,Reading who could beat us quite easy.

If kitsons comments are correct then i dont blame the lad.Getting dropped over a twat like cresswell every game.I feal for the lad as i think he has loads of potential but as usual pulis keeps it the same.
Man city is a must win game and if we dont then im sorry to say but its game over and i for one thought that we would make it.

Is it time to play Lawrence in central midfield? Add a bit of energy and creativity and his lack of pace should not hinder him. For me Kitson needed to start last night. I can't fathom why Cressy carries on playing. He's our 4th best fit striker and 5th overall in the pecking order. Yet he starts. Totally bemusing, why does TP never learn about these things?

kitson against liverpool for the first time started to get in the right positions and created a couple of decent chances, his reward - dropped to the bench to watch cresswell run round like a twat. the blokes desperate for some pitch time to try regain some form, not to get a game last night in favor of cresswell is insane.
