After a pitiful first half performance defensively we were deservedly thrashed. The answer ITS CRESSWELL'S fault. True he's out of his depth at this level but so tonight were Wilkinson,Higgy,Delap,Amdyand especially Whelan. So let's not choose scapegoats - thats pathetic. We lost collectively as a team

It would be nice to give the opposition something to think about, to give our defence a break.
The only ones Cresswell gives something to think about are the supporters who are fucking bemused by his selection.

We put great pressure on our defence, because we have players who cannot hold possession, Cresswell is one of the biggest culprits. No-one is saying he is the sole reason why we lost, but he makes a major contribution to our downfall. We are playing with 10 men with Cresswell, he poses absolutely no threat to the opposition, can't hold possession, gives away free-kicks, can't cross or pass, in short he does not help the team.

Yes sure but the problem with us is really this. There players in the team who are not suited for prem lge football. Honestly, spurs are an avrage/good team and their football is flowing. Ours is direct rash and headless.

Bravo stay up for strakiller !!! finally someone who sees that having good attackers up front gives the opposition defenders (and the rest of the team) more to think about if they have someoen constantly bangin on the goal. But with him we dont, so they move forward in droves not worrying too much because they know its just Cresswell they have to "worry" about !!

I agree that Cresswell is poor but why pick him out. We have full backs who cannot mark, cannot tackle properly and distribute abysmally. We have midfielders who cannot create and contiually fail to pick up runners. The forwards whoever they are have to rely on scraps. another point how many stupid , brainless free kicks did we concede tonight??

One tries to give a balanced view Tuum, you can't blame Cresswell for all Stoke's problems but after Chelsea this was a total shambles -hard to give credit to anyone

Cresswell was very good indeed against Liverpool, he's earned his last two starting places on merit IMO.
What are our options otherwise?
We have one striker who is too busy slapping his own players and getting suspended to score a goal, and another who makes 'Lethal' Vince Pericard look like value for money. IMO our problems would be solved if Fuller or Kitson showed the same committment and determination that Cresser does, but they don't.

feel sorry for cresswell, its not his fault he keeps being played its the managers. he is shit and not good enough, and it pisses me off that hes on the pitch, but come on, higgy,wilko,faye,whelan,griffin....they were shit

Right 624. You don't go 3-0 down to Spurs because the manager preferred Cresswell to Fuller

i think kitson would have buried that header in the second half, it's what strikers do. to not play beattie and kits, with fuller off the bench, in a six pointer is nothing short of criminal

Match after Match, Cresswell constantly shows his lack of ability, he brings nothing to the output of the team, he is quite clearly out of his depth. Is it just me? I find myself constantly moaning about the bloke, come on Tone do me a favour this weekend and leave him out.

Cresswell is a poor version of Andy Cooke!
He was shocking tonight.
Also Higgy isn't a left back and doesn't provide us with any width & Whelan just isn't good enough at this level.

As usual we got caught out by pace, movement off the ball, and defending too deep.
When the posts were coming in and saying this is an away win i was thinking maybe 4-1,was nearly right.

I don't blame Cresswell for all of Stoke's problems but I would like to never see him wear the shirt again. I think he's the weakest link. I just wish we could say "Goodbye".

Cresswell is a poor version of Andy Cooke! He was shocking tonight. that is a good comparison, he is very similar, gives his all, but his all is no where near good enough. playing a player as poor as Cresswell at this level puts pressure on the rest of team.

For me tonight, only Ryan can hold his head up high from that performance, I suppose to be fair, Beattie took his chance well.
However, whilst tonight was a bad performance for most, there are two players who are putting in such performances week in week out, and they are Cresswell and Whelan. Both have a good work ethic but in all honesty neither are Premiership players, and their continued selection will cost us dear.
