I read earlier that someone said "his tactics have served us well all season"....3 points all year away and no wins. How can they be working?
IMHO the point away against Liverpool was the worst thing that could've happened to us - it instiled false hope and justifcation for negative tactics that have since and will continually be found wanting and most substandard at this level of football.
How many times did we say at away games last season "if we play like this next season I fear the worst"?.......our worst is realised!
Surely TP's tactical ability at the highest level are now evidently questionable and suspect.
Something or someone must change....150 games with TP at the helm with 55 wins does not sound like positive stat to me....

heroesof72, we are playing against some of the best teams in the world, even if we changed tactics we would still probably lose a vast majority of away games!

A lot of people on here would like Pulis to pick an attacking side with 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 and get a proper twatting like west brazil. fu*king priceless

I hear you Stokelad, I know where you're coming from, but....Blackburn, Wigan, West Ham, you know what I'm saying yeah.
Gung-ho certainly isn't the way forward either but a selection policy and style that suits and enables us to actually compete and not just take part would I feel help our cause and confidence..

"Thin and Thinner" What part of that is Premier league footbal???? FFS!!!!!! Priceless! The irony of it..... "Thin and thinner" where do I start, .... I don't see any irony. You wrote "Thin and Thinner." I can't see getting automatic promotion and playing in the premier league thin or for that matter thinner. I'm 37 and took it for granted when I was a kid and watching Stoke in the old first division, but after the last 20 years of crap, using terms like thin and thinner to Pulis' reign is a fucking joke. I sometimes don't understand his team selection etc. But killing the club he is not, he has put it in the best financial footing for years with the help of PC.

Fucking joke.
I'm sure the majority don't think that he's "Killing the club", quite the opposite in fact . Some of the sad twats on here stating "Pulis out" etc after losing to a team who are better than us in every department, we've done this on many occasions this season, yet lets blame his tactics instead of Spurs' quality going forward.
Whatever the man does, he will get slated, i don't quite understand it, the only quarm i had about yesterday was about how the players weren't closing down Tottenham enough, it looked to me as though they weren't up for it , no matter what the tactics, to get blitzed by 3 goals in the first 20 mins was all down to the players . Fact is - players like Whelan aren't good enough, and we're stuck with him until we get a new midfielder in, the guy's an average championship player who people like because he plays pretty passes backwards all the time.
This away thing is psycological, clearly, once we step across the line they look afraid, Higgy can't kick a thing, Abdoulaye is at sixes and sevens and Wilko/Griffin just get turned inside and out.
That Chelsea game was the nail in the coffin away from home, we just haven't got the players to even attack teams if we wanted to, always getting pushed back by the opposition(it's not Pulis telling the players to sit back).
I may be stereotyping here, but anyone who calls for Pulis' head is a total fucking, prick faced inbred, who's brain's are only competent enough for them to eat ,drink, and sprout utter, utter shite.
There's no one better for Stoke than Pulis. Stability is the key as seen with so many different clubs, changing your manager is almost always fatal unless it is totally NEEDED - and quite frankly, unless we get relegated to league one, it won't be. We belong in the championship, and we've punched above our weight very well this season, every single week we are coming up against better players, and it's very hard to push up and try and attack them when they're always looking for openings themselves(at home) - it's psycological, nothing to do with tactics.

Er, mad Boy Tom...we belong in the Championship? so you're saying thats where we should be then and thats the level where Pulis manages best?
As for your away form comment.....it will affect the players psychologically if the best team arent playing, and for that matter they are playing for a draw because I would imagine that the majority would actually want to win, not just shut up shop for 90 minutes.
If Pulis doesnt change his away tactics / personnel then I will be on the verge of being 'a total fucking, prick faced inbred, who's brain's are only competent enough for them to eat ,drink, and sprout utter, utter shite'

I expected us in to be in a relegation battle.
We are in a relegation battle.
I don't see what he's done wrong OVERALL.
Of course he has his favourite players, of course sometimes he picks the wrong players, just like any other manager does.
The fact we haven't been cut adrift is a measure of just how well we have actually done so far, given this is our first year in the Prem.

For those that want to stand beside him, you have the right to. Many others like myself have followed us through thin & thinner, but to watch things unravel at white hart lane tonight is negligence in the extreme in my opinion. Many many people have mentioned the tactics deployed away from home are far from ideal but to expect people to pay for this sort of football is insulting in my eyes.... The players who go on the pitch are asked to follow a system - on that we all agree, but how many of them are wondering " what the fuck is this all about"..???? Please Coatesy or any of your relatives ever reading this board, please do the honourable thing and serve this guy his P45 and give us a chance of staying up.... And to those who wish to start blartin about 'stop having a go at Pulis' your support for the guy is an endorsement of his brand of football which is sucking the life and also the chance this club has of staying in the division.... I think alot of people have forgoten that we knew it'd be a really fucking difficult season, yeah we've had afew whippings along the way but wern't we expecting that?
It makes me really proud that for example a week before the game I thought that we could go to chelsea and fancy our chances to get 3 points. It shows how far we've come

Well said Dave I dont know what some people where expecting this year ? Top 5 !! We are very much still in this with probably the best run in and possibly two quality signings this week. I dont allways agree with TPs tactics or team selections but I am not at training everyday and I have not got his coaching qualifications. All I do know is between TP and PC we have a real crack at the prem, been linked with and signed players we would only have dreamed of only last season. We need everyone behind the manager and team not calling for TPs head. On the whole I am quite pleased with the signings he has made give him a break FFS.

What - another whinging thread!! Pulis got us here and the Chairman will let him see the season out whether you or your ilk like it or not Things have not gone well of late but don't tell me the players are not working for the manager after that Chelsea performance Pulis is staying so you have to decide if you are going to support him and the club - or carry on bleating and try to drag us all down

The bleating by fans is purely incidental. i must say that as disappointing as it is when we lose, Pulis gets no credit for anything off you (and people sharing your viewpoint). But the thing that drags me down is people who moan like fuck every time things dont go our way harping on about the same old message. Go and abuse an American Football team

We attacked them instead of sitting back and letting them come on to us and do as they liked. Attack, best form of defence ,especially when you are 3 down playing the other way.

I don't agree with all that you've said dutchstokie - but you've a right to say what you want.
I would'na worry about some of the mardarses on here - they resent someone having negative comments - calling it moaning etc. Then bleat and moan about what's been said themselves - double standards?
Then you get the imbeciles that haven't got the intellectual capability to string more than a few letters together to create obscenities - "special needs" group that lot.
