1st of all trumptonpotter we brought whelan when we were in the championship and prem experience wasn't the top of his thinking and it sounds like you've got a problem with him . And Kitson was brought to 'score the goals' and pulis said he 'works his socks off ' and i aint seen him do either so it doesn't really matter if pulis thinks he can when kitson proves he isn't up for the fight! Nice assumption there fella .... wrong of course as a lot of assumptions are. Actually i've got no problem with Whelan at all and at the moment i like him in alongside Faye or Diao. However he didn't "set the championship alight though did he". Ledley however gets loads of praise and attracted a lot of interest from bigger clubs. The price is steep but he's a big improvement on Whelan whether i like him or not. It's creation we're lacking and Whelan is just 'not quite' good enough.

Paul,
You are right I did suggest that, and Pulis quotes could suggest that my sources were wrong, but on the other hand, if you look at it from my point of view (been bias towards my source) all he basically said was "I am disappointed because I think Joe is a very good player, but we have to respect Cardiff," "He is their player and maybe it was never going to happen."

I dont think that we will match was Cardiff are expecting for him. 8mill is a bit much for an unproved championship player. I dont think we have got that kind of money to throw at someone like Ledley who is a HUGE risk.

I take on board what you're saying A Teen but unfortunately I can't really afford the luxury of being biased towards your source, rather I have to take things on face value. That being that if the paperwork didn't reach the FA in time, then that would mean that Cardiff had accepted our offer and Ledley had agreed terms. Which would then mean that there was a conspiracy between Cardiff, Stoke and most importantly the player to publicly state that the offer hadn't been accepted and that Ledley himself would have to state publicly that he was angry with Cardiff that they hadn't allowed him to talk to Stoke. Why would all three parties agree to take part in such an elaborate lie? It doesn't make any sense. Whilst I'm sure there was dialogue between agents and the two clubs I really do find the suggestion that the paperwork didn't reach the FA in time to be highly dubious.

All the info I have got about Ledley was different to ateen63 re: our attempt to sign him in the summer, I am lead to believe it got nowhere near that stage. However, we both appear to have been told very similar info this time, so here's hoping

Maybe Wigan or Fulham i suppose. Can't see West Ham as they're skint and are rumoured aswell to be bidding 9mill for some foreign striker.

Haven't Wigan just dropped 5 mil on Stephen Hunt?
