Our Ilda is owed £32.00 through a service she provides for a customer. The agreement was that she was to be paid weekly. Three weeks on and several excuses later she has not been paid.
We both believe that the customer is skint( although no proof)
Should she continue providing the service and running up an even bigger bill...or pulling the plug .?
We are talking about a small business.
Any serious advice or opinions.?

I'd say walk away and be thankful it's not that much money.

as a solicitor, my advice would be to stop providing the services.
and to then break the customer's legs.

My advice is to stop providing the service until she pays arrears. Then tell her you will only provide the service if she pays in advance.

An update... Ilda rang the house tonight three times but no one answered. We decided to check to see if the client was in.We then parked a car they were not conversant with adjacent to the property. We rang the house phone again, and could see and hear the two clients in heated discussion. Ilda then rang the mobile number which the client reluctantly gave when the paperwork was completed initially. The client answered the phone and Ilda asked for her money. The Client stated "that we're going away for the weekend". Ilda said..."I can call round tonight..." (Bearing in mind we were sat outside in the car). The cLient replied..."We're not in,we're at friends ..." But you know and I know that this isn't true... Watch this space. Mumf.

The small claims court is a great way of settling disputes particularly with retailers who don't want to give refunds for faulty goods. Always works
