Ok, maybe this is a little ott and I am on a week off so have been out to watch the scouse derby and had a few, but there is something i have been meaning to post for a while. I have noticed from a good few of our incoming transfers that when interviewed by the press, many of the players have said how great TP is. I was born in 1976 and first went to Stoke in 1988 so my opinion is based on conversations with Alan Hudson and things I have read by other players of 'Sir' Tony Wadington's era. BUT, many of the 70's era talk about how 'Sir' Tony Waddington 'sold' Stoke City Football Club as well as Stoke-on-Trent to them, is being repeated is it not, by players like Ethers and BT ? Sorry if this sounds like a drunken chit chat but...maybe thats what it is

I think most managers these days regard it as part of their job to sell their club so that's waht they all do. Waddo was perhaps more persistent than many other managers in his day.
