Without a win in 10 matches, without a win since mid November, 2nd from the bottom of the league with the 2nd worst goal difference in the league, scored the least goals (along with Fulham).

Plenty to be optimistic about !!! except for away at Arsenal the top 4 are done with. If and only if they can use all this class and have to admit quality, against the so called "lower" teams, and not sit back when a lead is acheived, the positive results will come. 3 point results are needed at Stoke, and needed soon

Try looking at the rest of the fixture list and comparing it to who we have played already. played all of the top 4 twice except for Arsenal and taken 5 points from there so far. 5 points that I hadn't banked on us making when the fixtures 1st came out. The rest of our games are against easier teams to beat, if only slightly easier. Try comparing the rest of our fixtures to every other teams who are likely to be in the relegation battle (theres quite a few this year) and see how tough the back end of their season is gonna be compared to ours. It's still gonna be tough for us but with 2 great signings in Ethers and BT and maybe a couple more on the way, things are looking up. They could certainly be much worse!

3 points from 12th.
One more top 4 side to play.
Fuller back from suspension.
An encouraging performance at Stamford Bridge.
Managed by a manager who has never been relegated.
Owned by a Chairman pumping finances in to keep us up.
A squad of players with a never say die attitude.
But don't worry we mind lose one of our remaining games, so you'll get chance to remind everyone how incompetant pulis is, how there is nothing to be optimistic about, and let everyone notice you, and your negative vibes.

How about, 21 pointa from as many games so far? Those games played have taken the seriously good teams out of the equation. Not saying any game is going to be easy from now on, but easier and winnable. Etherington, Beattie, Lawrence coming back, and probable now signings leaves me very optimistic.

Question for spiderman Q) the league is so close that a couple of good home wins can send us up into mid-table, a spirited performance at chelsea (within 2-3 minutes of 3 points against the champions league finalists), new signing Beattie slotting in nicely on his debut and setting up Delap for his goal, 2 good signings with more to come, a good run of very winnable fixtures(especially home fixtures) coming up, Fuller and Lawrence as good as back in the set-up, as is Sidibe........ Please tell me, what is there NOT to be optomistic about??? We are going to be a stronger set-up for the second half of the season. Its a good job you aint the manager we'd of chucked the towel in long ago Its also a very good job you wer'nt Prime Minister during WW2, we would be speaking German now. I could understand your negative thoughts if we were rock bottom and 10 points adrift from the pack, but the fact is we are not and just a couple of good home wins can put us up into mid-table, this league and the relegation spots will not be cemented until the very end imo. So why not be Optomistic???????????????????????????????????

It does make you wonder if the Doom & Gloom merchants are actually SCFC supporters or if they are just Vale fans bored with their life in League 2, coming on here to support every team we play against. I have a Vale fan Freind like this, he gets more joy out of Stoke losing than he does out of Vale winning. Obviously given up with the 'pub team'.

Thats rather pathetic mate, afew vale fan friends on facebook often post shite like "stoke loose again and cant wait till they get relegated".
I just think, shouldnt you be worrying about the fucking state your own clubs in than being jelous of a team you couldnt beat it the past?
Even on the sentinel site, on the article about whos-is-face sueing the club, dont even know if a lady that posted was a stokie, but one of the vale fans just HAD to comment "its not as if stoke are in a great position at the moment is it?"
Well actually, yes we fucking are! Have a dig when your in a better position to play us.
Rant over.
I actually like the minority of Vale fans that come on here to wish stoke luck and have a bit of a banter, other than that, none of their arguments mean shit at the moment. I'd wish the vale well as it can only be good for the city and I used to love the local derby days. Last time i remember playing them was at the Brit, and vale park before that.
