If Spurs win we go second bottom but it continues to drag Pompey in...
If Pompey win it gives them a lift and keeps Spurs bottom for when we play them...
Is a draw the best result?

Draw would suit us fine, lets keep everyone close to us then when we get this group of 5 of 6 winable games come up hopefully we can start climbing

Spurs win. In the long run will probably be a better result for us.

It feels like we are never EVER gioing to win again. We've got some winnable games on the way BUT, remember, since we last won we've played home to Hull and Fulham...two winnable games and we blew it.

Of course a draw is ordinarily the best result when two teams who are our relegations rivals are playing each other. It is certainly better for only two points to have been earned from the game than three.
In the long run however will it be better for Spurs to get a win today, because come the end of the season Portsmouth are probably more likely to be fighting it out with us at the end of the season?
However having said all of that, I can't help thinking that I actually want Portsmouth to win today.
I'd much rather go to White Hart Lane next with Spurs being the bottom team in the table, psychologically feeling under immense pressure because not only will they be bottom of the league but they will also have suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Pompey in their previous game.

i say 6 nil kitson and beattie hattricks, but realisticly a point would be good. a few games coming up we should get 3 points from so i will always take a point against the harder games. or try and nick one 3 minutes into injury time!!!!!! like we did against villa

I do like to have a preference for a result so I can get more into it when I'm watching.
And a draw's a bit of a hard result to go into a match cheerleading for.
I can't see Spurs being in the shake-up come the end of the season, but Portsmouth definitely could.
So, reluctantly, I do kind of hope for a Spurs win, which seems a bit weird, given their position and the fact they could get a bit of a life for when we play them.

That's usually when we come unstuck though Paul. West Ham hadn't won a home game for about six matches when we turned up and I think Blackburn's form was even worse. Yet we turn up at Anfield a week after they've beaten Man Utd and get a goalless draw! I'm rooting for Spurs today. Pompey look to be in freefall and we need that to continue.

Always a draw between your rivals. Only 2 points out of a possible 3 achieved.

Indeed you are right Dave. Is it okay if I settle for Defoe and Woodgate to both receive straight red cards, followed by Spurs receiving a 10 point deduction for failing to control their fans abusive chanting during the game?

I think about 8-0 to Spurs with Portsmouth having 3 sent off and 2 more out with nasty injuries would be bloody lovely

Need to factor i Spurs have to go to Burnley & Man utd before we play we are there fourth game in 10 days therefore we want a very attritional game for both sides a nice reds and a couple pulled hamstrings for Spurs would be nice, as would a draw,
Believe me they believe Stoke & Pompey are must win games they have 5 against the top four left annd therefore feel if they dont win both they could be on 22 points with 16 to play 5 against the top four and therfore need 18 points from 11 games and eufa and carling cup and even possibly Fa cup as well

I think a Spurs win would be best to be honest. Looking at the bigger picture, Pompey are more likely to be there abuots amongst us at the bottom towards the end of the season. I know it'll drag us down a sopt, but we'll get that back when we win a week Tuesday.
