It's all fookin silly really int it ? Some poncy twerp is auctioning off random bleedin numbers, & some suckers buy them. ??? More money than sense. ;D
Edit; & years ago i used to work at a prominent car salesroom, so, yes, i do know that the good numbers are with-held so that the showrooms can make a killing on them, selling them on to vain arseholes. ;D

Stupidity? Those that try and spell the person's name, but actually don't make me laugh - I used to see one around that was obviously meant to be STEVE B, but was actually SIEVE B! Unless of course the driver was actually called Sieve?

The ones I laugh at most are the sad Irish plates on 12 year old luxury cars, like anyone's going to believe they're really new.

Put it this way.
If someone spends five hundred quid on one because they want it...so what.
Better than smoking 20 a day and spending 500 quid in less than a year

The only difference is that one is based on addiction and the other on ego. You could get by without 'Swampy1' on the front your car....you couldn't if you were addicted to fags...!

It's not a waste of money. If you'd read my previous post private number plates go up in value so really your making money rather than wasting it.

I kept the number that came with my car, as it is unique, it is the only one in the UK with these numbers & letters in this order. ;D
