Had an interesting time spying on Chelsea, whose fantastic training complex is nearby. So much security but stood with a lone freelance photographer who had permission from the adjoining railway, which has a gate leading into the ground, five meters away. Incredibly, they use the first (very close) pitch, depiste having nearly twenty (I kid you not) to choose from! Could clearly see them, especially Drogba (the subject of his photo-shoot) with his lime green boots and bobble hat, on a mild day. About as far away as the Seddon Stend is from where I sit, at the Brit. Briefly, before I go out, they tried zonal marking but seemd to return to man-to-man marking. They spent some time, separately, on reacting to throw-ins. Their man was, of course ;D positioned outside the 18 yd box. They were heavily reliant on GK Petr Cech coming out for the ball which he did well, (stamp on his toes, tomorrow, Abdy ) and I'll be looking to see if that tactic works. Pity they have such a good goalie. Delighed to read, today, that we're finlaly to have new training ground soon. Exciting times ahead, as well as now.

Good man, I agree with you on the training ground issue. I'm beginning to believe that we're in the process of becoming that 'Proper Football Club' we've been told we were.

Thing with the throws in is we have to win the second ball. In recent games we haven't been doing so.

Somebody give that girl the clubs email address!
Shirley we should know keepers will try and do this station most people near post in which the goaly will assume we will aim for and then sling it fast to Kitson back post, this would work if he was staggered a bit further out than everyone.

Tomorrow could be testament to how much they (the players) actually want rid of Gene Hackman.
Which Chelsea turns up will be the fascinating thing...

If we concede an early goal then i think our heads will drop and they will beat us 2-0.But if we keep putting the ball into the box and put pressure on them from the off we should do ok.I think our set peices will be the key and with new faces we should be well up for it.

GB, "good man"? ;D Incidentally, before someone says it, I can usually spell but rushed it and am now regretting it. Now I really must go, and get a life with some food to get. Much prefer the football, though and can't wait until tomorrow.

Rory will have to eat some spinach then and try to chuck over Cech or drop them short and win the flick ons and hope the ref doesn't do the coawrds thing and gives Cech a free kick when he clatters his own players.

Rorys throws didnt really do alot of damage when we played them at the brit.I think like you say we should look for a short and flick them on.

SFR, yes their training ground is off the Stoke Road. Although it stands for Stoke d'Abernon, it still gives me a thrill whenever I see it, which is most days. Just wondering whether to barracade Cech in his house, (which I've this week discovered is a few doors from Jimmy Bullard,) as they no longer stay in a hotel overnight, before a home match. Tough times.
