Looks like Pompey have got in £36m from transfers of Diarra and Defoe - they bought some dude for about £4m so net +£32m.
Do they have money worries or are they going to spend big?

Entirely agree Pointy, we will do them. I just think that's a lot of cash to be shipping out in Jan, but they're not exactly going after quality replacements are they?

Tony Adams, still talks and acts like he is pi$$ed.
I wouldn't be a happy bunny seeing him in the dugout for us and doing our press conferences.

I heard that at least half of everything they got from transfers wasnt coming out of the bank, dont forget they havent even paid for Defoe the first time so thats all gone settling Spurs debt.

They're screwed aren't they? They bought players on the never never and now it's time to pay. They had to pay a large cut for Defoe hence him moving, and another part of the Crouch fee is due soon.
On a wider issue, they've spent all there money on older players and ones which aren't going to match a resale value or the likes - James and Campbell spring to mind.
I think the Defoe money has gone back to Spurs, along with his loyalty bonus and Arsenal are having £5m of Diarra. Still good price for him though.

There cash flow aint great to put it mildly. They haven't got undersoil heating and also want to build anew ground. They can' even fill the 20k capacity one they have lately.

The rest of the cash is probably going towards Pennants over inflated ego-wage!

Are they broke? Anyone who has had Redknapp as manager, will be broke!
Guydamak (owner) wants out. He knows that they have no chance, while they cannot afford a new stadium. I sampled their sponsor's lounge when we played (having made an on-pitch presentation) and that's all they have. Not a single box etc.
So Tony Adams won't get much of the player sales money and new players won't be impressed with the training facilities. It was OK with Harry as they were (too) well paid and fantastic contract clauses for Sol, (despite his age) Distin, Diarra and Defoe.
