made me laugh this one " I work at a local hotel in Stoke On Trent, Chris Iwelumo was staying overnight, he is in talks with Tony Pulis to return as a foil for Ricardo Fuller. He is married to a local girl and she wants to be closer to her mum." quoted by some half-head on there.

i don't believe it but..... charlton seem determined to get Andy Gray from burnley, which will add to their long list of strikers.

I wouldn't mind seeing Lumo back here to be honest. He's a better player than the last time he was here and deffo better than Porkin and Pericard IMHO.

Quite honestly I think if Lumo was offered a return I think he'd jump at it . . . he certainly knows where the back of the net is these days.
Stealing him of Charlton would be a right one up the jacksie for them! I'd certainly be happy see him come back - strange really as I never thought he'd do owt when he left, but I still have the happy memory of his screamer against Wigan!
I think he'd be tailor made to fit in with the squad and 'aarrrrd work ethic . . . that said I'd be very surprised if we went for him!

" deffo better than Porkin and Pericard IMHO. " Maybe so but, two wrongs don't make it right. (or three) Lumo will always be a favourite with fans because of the effort he puts in. Personally i don't think he's good enough for where we are going ;D. Neither are the other two, although i've always liked Parkin.

Don't see that this would be a good move, ok he works hard for the team and has found his goal touch, but would he be played in the same way as mamma holding up the ball for Fuller? I personnaly think we need someone like Earnshaw, small and nippy to compliment the strength of Fuller

Whilst I fully understand he unproven at this level, Fleetwood must be worth a try, wouldn't cost a fortune either.

lumo would imo be a great addition to the sqaud but why would charlton let him go to a promotion rival?

Pulis' system is the one we've seen every single week. Even with the warchest seemingly open he will not change it, so why these dreams of nippy, mobile strikers it will never happen. All he will look at is mama-alikes, which I suppose in some ways Lumo is.

I know someone who is afriend of bothe Mr & Mrs Iwelumo (she is Scottish like him,so no obvious S-o-T connection) & he is on 'mega money' @ Charlton.
factor in he is a mainstay in their side so dont see it happening @ this time.
be good if it did though.

No. Fuller needs a big strong player to play off and not the other way round. If we got Earnshaw (which we wont), then it would be earnshaw playing off fuller and that is nit where fuller's strength lies. However, if we changed our style of play a little, we could more than utilise the strengths of both fuller and earnshaw or a player in the same mould of earnshaw.

wasn't there a rumor awhile ago that we were trying to bring him back ? i wouldn't be surprised if Pulis is interested, if Charlton are selling him.

I agree with dadofsam and kind of SGS about our system, which i think is here to stay. In which case i think a lightening quick left winger is our best bet to splash out on, that way on our counter attacks we have someone other than Fuller with the pace required to cause them trouble - but we need someone who can do a very similar job to fuller to chase down players and to get on the end of mama flick ons and hoofs and hold the ball up in their end of the pitch. Put an awesome winger in there and we might be able to carry it off with Mama's non-existant goal contribution and even without getting our attacking midfielder (who knows how the inclusion of salif will effect SJE/Pugh/Delap?). Having said that, a replacement for Mama would be awesome, Harewood being the obvious man for that job.
