Just for interest, I pulled these numbers off the BBC article;
RECORD TRANSFERS £47m Zinedine Zidane (Juventus - Real Madrid) £37m Luis Figo (Barcelona - Real Madrid) £34m Hernan Jorge Crespo (Parma - Lazio) £32.5m Robinho (Real Madrid - Man City) £31m Christian Vieri (Lazio - Inter Milan) £30.75m Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham - Manchester United)
Can't really see the need for them to go quite so astronomical. Surely a mere £60m & £200k/wk would suffice...
There you go Sheikh Al Fayed Bin Laden, I've just saved you £55m. Gis' a job...

The money touted for this transfer is just crazy- you really can't egt your head around it. Of course, Kaka is an exceptional player and it would be great to have him in the English League (particularly if Citeh were relegated ;D) but how on earth is one individual who will retire in under ten years worth £100 million plus the stupid wage? It's ridiculous. news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7827696.stm

Makes me wonder where the pay back is ? Why who some of the richest men in the world with undoubted business skills think that £100m on one player is a good investment. Sheikh Mansour Al Nahyan doesn't have business skills. He's just lucky - his family effectively own Abu Dhabi, and Abu Dhabi sits on one of the largest oil reserves in the world. £100m plus the wages won't make much of a dent in his wallet - he's worth at least double Abramovich. I find it really satisfying that we're competing with the likes of Citeh and Chelski with a chairman from Goldenhill

people keep saying he not worth 100million, how can it be a good invesatment. man city are the sheikh's play thing. have you never bought something that will be worth fuck all after. 100million is nowt to him really and he wants a new toy. the 500k a week is the only way they could tempt kaka to leave milan for manchester. fuck me i'd need 4 times my existing wages to to do that

Would'nt mind a cheeky bid for Sturridge or Evans though, it's a crying shame that players like Sturridge and Ched Evans who I watched grow up in the local Junior league before he was scouted will not get a sniff if all these superstars arrive. RS Sturridge is quality, never going to happen though.

He's not going do an awful lot in a dogged relegation battle is he lets be honest?
I think tightening up the defence was a priority, someone at the club is like a kid in a sweet shop and picking the best names out and trying to buy them.
Won't work

fucking joke is this 100mil these jokers have got money throw away. The owners obviously aren't interested in making their money back, because there is no way in hell they will recuperate £100 million!
