............played brilliantly on Saturday, would have probably been my MOM, just my humble opinion...! Personally would be titsed to see him go, he's no 1st choice striker at all, but I still truly believe the lad could do something for us as coming on as a sub. Think people are very divided with this one so ive got me tin hat at the ready....!

I agree mate, i think we should we keep him, The fact is he has never let this club down no matter what position he has been put in.Its easy to have a pop at Cressy, but he has been magnificent for us especially with his teamwork and work rate. He has been a credit to himself and the club and i would love to see him stay.

i dont think he is anywhere near good enough but i agree with you on one thing, he was close to being my man of match aswell. with beattie kitson sidibe and fuller we surely have to now get rid of peretard and possibly cresswell, he aint going get a look in up front, and we have more than enough midfielders to cope.

Cressy is the modern day Andy Cooke, He gives his all every time he pulls on a Stoke shirt. Unfortunately his all isn't good enough.

He's the perfect Pulis player in a crisis, he'll always give it everything and play to orders - I think he'll move down a division (preferably not with us!) at the end of the season but we should certainly keep him till then, can't think of anyone better to have on the bench.

Only problem is if he's here TP will be tempted to play him you know where when TP has a twitching sphincter, he can't give that something speecial to change a game when comes on, and at £16k a week plus £3k appearance I would have hoped for a goal by now from somebody who has played so much.

I'd never knock a palyer who gives everything every week and Cressy does.
If he isn't good enough for the best league in the world then thats not his fault! He has never let us down and TP (one of the greatest managers in our history) picks him and knows exactly what he can and can't do. I suspect Cressy will be pushed down the pecking order but he deserves nothing but great appreciation and thanks from Stoke fans imo

if, according to some on here, all a player needs, to be considered "quality" is being able to "run his socks off". why dont we just sign a marathon runner to do what Cresswell does !! He can run all day. Otherwise, he has no skill, has a permanent lost look on his face and adds absolutely nothing to the team and just gives the opposition an extra player to go mark someone else! im sure he is the nicest guy in the world, but a premier league player he is not !!

He won the throw-in at the Villa game that led to the rory Delap last minute bullet that Sidders headed in...As a last few minutes sub, he can make a big difference...

He should have buried Delap's rebound! He was on his heels. No shots on target or even off target ,again , on saturday !! For a forward that is a poor performance. No goals & not many more shots on target the whole season. No excuse for that even from left midfield when he plays there. However , i agree with your comments re effort/workrate & he deserves to get a taste of the Prem this year after last years goals. At west ham i was convinced it was going to be his day - if anybody heard a cresswell being shout between a few "go on stokes"that was me. Maybe he'll come on with 10 minutes to go on Saturday and get the winner!

Maybe he'll come on with 10 minutes to go on Saturday and get the winner! Here we go again. Cresswell played the Mama role on Saturday. This is not a forward position. It is a strangely unique position that only Plan A accommodates. The exponent of this position spends the whole game playing between the half way line and the penalty area. It is the job of the lone striker and wide midfielders to score the goals, just as they did last season. Sorry to get on my high horse about this, but I thought we had finally agreed on the nature of the Mama position and the thankless task it is for the fortunate person chosen to play it. Mama has made the position his own. Kitson and Pericard can't play there and Cresswell made a good attempt to play it on Saturday. The challenge for agent Beattie (should he choose to accept it) is to play the Mama role better than Mama. This message will self-destruct in 30 seconds (and most of you will breathe a sigh of relief).

If we are serious about the Premiership then he has no part to play for me beyond being an occasional substitute probably to bring on in place of a wide midfielder / striker for the last 10 minutes to protect a lead.
At 19K per week that becomes an expensive option - I also agree about 'temptation' getting the better of TP.
He wont go - who in the Championship is going to pay him that sort of money ?

I like him He gets a lot of unnecssary stick, like when we lost to Blackburn everyone said it was his fault ??? His work rate is the best in the side and he got 12 goals which got us up, IMO is a very good player although not Prem standard we should keep hold of him.

I agree about Mama but Cresswell still should have scored from rebound and when he does venture forward he can still shoot more often and try and score.. ..the role doesn't mean they can't have a go & try and shoot /score when we have the ball.
Anyway - bedtime and dreaming of 3 points at chelsea.

I think we tend to overlook the reason why Tone likes to have him (and Diao) around. They are both players Tone can rely on to do exactly what he wants. Diao sits in front of the back 4 and doesn't get involved in any of that fancy attacking football. Cresswell will chug up and down the left side, defend when the opposition have the ball and do what he is asked in both penalty areas at set pieces. Managers love players who do exactly what they are asked to do and as such it wouldn't surprise me to see Cresswell sitting on the bench for the rest of the season, just in case.

The prob with Cressie is he's too keen. He'll do 5 shit moves for every one he does because he's trying to get in the play all over the field.

lovely fella -works arrd- helped us get promoted so -we are in his debt BUT
'THAT CHANCE' recently, at home against Fulham was it or, was it Hull, when he was played in by Fuller slide rule pass at the boothen end about 8 yards out- only the goalie to beat, free and clear, that instant said it all to me
i.e he ballooned it over the bar when, a real premiership striker would have buried it without even thinking.
And against Hyppia last satday night first half, he caught the ball turned - beat Hyppia then fell over spectacularly, trying for the free kick just out side the D, instead of finishing his good work off and going into the box to shoot.
sorry Cressy - BUT your not good enough for where we are going now !

To be honest, ive got a lot of time for Cresswell. Always gives it his all, play out of position and we never see him moan. Although i do agree that he is definately one of our top 2 stikers. But i would definately keep him as i always feel that he could sneak us a goal ! I heard newcastle have been linked with him!

Who cares how hard he works - he's crap.
Gave the ball away countless times on sat when there was an easy pass on.
Get another striker in & fuck him & Pericard off.

If that's ot the best summarisation of Cressy i don't know what is. Smashing chap, tremendous professional, not nearly good enough for the league we are in. That said, noone will ever slag him, and you couldn't blame TP for keeping him about the place.
