Anybody else seen/suprised by the figures coming out of sheff utd today? They are claiming that BT's wages would have accounted for 35% of their wage bill next season!!! "The loss of parachute payments will correspond with a worldwide recession, and the chance to transfer our highest paid player can only happen when a willing buyer puts in an offer. Whenever this bid came it would be difficult, both for the Club and its supporters, but it had to be considered.
With us still a Championship club and facing a massive drop in football income the wage cost of one player would have been 35% of projected budget."www.sufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10418~1518400,00.html That seems massive to me if the tales of Cresswell on 15k a week are to be believed Relegation is not an option!

BT is on 30k a week.
Rumours of Kitson on 28k
Ethers was on 30k at WHU, I'm not sure if he would have took a massive wage cut.
Our 'sugar daddy' is out CHAIRMAN peter coats.
They aren't massive wages in comparison to wages other prem teams play....We are in these premiership now, we are expected to pay these wages.
Out top players should be earning that kind of money.
The 'hardest' thing to take is if the likes of Cresswell (5th choice striker) and other fring players are on 15k plus a week, we have got a huge wage bill, if cresswell is on that, wilko dicko, cort, sonko, and oter 'reserve team' players are doidng that fr doing fuck all el la Pericard.
Last year the laers were on between 3 and 10 grand, so promotion, would expect a few grand wage increase as we are getting nearly double the crowds for some games.

Fuller is on around 10'000 a week (apparently) so cressy will not be on 15k a week. Wth a good player comes high wages, im sure kitson is the highest paid player atm but.. as long as he nets, i aint got a problem with it.

If Fuller is not on similar wages to Kitson and Beattie then I would be amazed.
£25 K aweek

Don't let it be siad on here, because all they see is the short-term, but I have real concerns about our policy. Relegation would be potentially catastrophic, given the astronomical wages. Yes, we have to invest in the squad if we want to survive, but there is a distinct possibility we could be plying our trade in the fizzy pop league with several players the wrong side of thrity with wages well in excess of 20k who we may find it hard to shift.

Which is why BT signed a two and a half year deal. Rest of this season plus two years parachute payments. PC aint daft.

It's pretty surreal stuff. But his own agent in a court case seems a pretty good source. Mr Stein told the court that salaries had `galloped away' because of vast amounts of cash from television. He said: "Even I admit they are at obscene levels, but as far as I can see there is no end to it."
As an example, he told the court that Richard Cresswell, a contemporary of Ben's, who moved to Stoke City, would have been on a basic salary of £10,000 per week before promotion to the Premier League.
His salary at the top level will now be £16,000 per week, plus a £3,000 per week appearance fee. He also received a £150,000 personal promotion bonus and £130,000 from the squad's promotion bonus.www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/1056811_injured_stars_big_money_potential

Someone posted a message recently that we were building a squad that could get us promoted if we were to go down.
If the worse were to happen and we got relegated we'd have to do what most relegated clubs do.....sell sell sell...unless Coates wants to be our sugardaddy for years to come.
We've probably spent in excess of the income the prem gratiously donates so we'd better well stay up hadn't we
