A couple of good ones there lads, Etherington always being a decent winger - he'll do well for you and i thought played well first half on Sat. Beattie - depite having played for the bitter deluded blue noses - is a great buy for you. Big lad, strong, good finisher.
You never know, we might be seeing you again next year afterall!!
Anymore new faces on the horizon?
Doesn't look like we will get anyone ( for the first team )- although i think we are crying out for a couple of propper fullbacks. There was a bit of talk about Glen Johnson but cant see/want it happening. We have bought an 18yr old from Iceland who is a promising defensive midfielder - but this just wont give us anything new this year.
Come on Beattie - knock a couple in against Chelsea!!

morning anfieldred! Glad you approve! Pretty chuffed myself, this morning....couple of good deals already and the promise of maybe one or two more before the end of the month....anybodys guess as to who. Calve, Ledley, Dindane all mentioned! Feel a lot more positive about Chelsea now...you just never know, eh?

Cheers mate.
We're still in for Ledley from Cardiff, waiting to see if the player wants to come.
Rumours linking us with Steve Finnan and Nicky Shorey too.
Just don't understand why you aren't playing Keane, astounds me.

Morning red, GJ has signed a 4 year extension at PFC I think.
We know all about Icelandic footballers, don't get your hopes up too much on that one - only Eidur Gudjonsson (sp?) has ever looked world class to me...

Oh yeah, you were owned by Icelandics weren't you. Funny that isn't it? - you felt the full force of what its like to be owned by Foreign business men before it bacame fashionable. They just dont get it do they? Sooner we get rid of ours the better - but then who is going to come in now ( Arabian oil barons excepted ) who could plough enough money in to keep us at the top!

I still think you can do it this season , there is a good spirit in your team and only really united to challenge you , Chelsea dont look a happy team to me and if you beat them they will be out of it.
Rafa needs to pick his best side though, played into our hands on Saturday, should have started Torres and Keane , gave us a chance to recover some confidence after a couple of poor results and we could have even nicked it. Good Luck for rest of the season

You are right Johnny.Stoke's strength so far has been the defence-Liverpool were never going to breach that with just Kuyt up front.Stevie G looked as if he had other things on his mind!

It is refreshing to see other fans come on with some actual knowledge rather than arrogance.
Etherington I am especially pleased with and BT is the icing on the cake at the mo. Others are on the horizon.
As for your full back problem, I have to agree. Playing Carrag at RB is unbelievable, he is a first class CB and rafa moves him across for Skirtle, who in all honesty looked a bit out at sea on saturday, good job hypia was on awesome form. And your left back (I have forgotten his name), never seems fully commited. In comparison to some of your players, the LB didn't seem that interested or even that bothered by the result as the final whistle blew, he had a quick clap and trotted off hapily, not what you expect from the league leaders after missing out on 3 points against new boys

Seems a good bloke. Best of luck this season, I would rather you win it than that monstrosity of a club and their disgusting fans.

Is it me or does rafa not quite hit the mark when signing wide players? Both wingers and full backs - liverpool seem to get through a shed load of them, all of them good, none of them good enough. Saw this morning that your next 3 are everton, wigan, chelsea. Could be a real blow if you drop too many points in those. Got to think you'll beat everton when they have no conventional strikers though. Did cahill take a wee knock at the weekend too or am i imagining that?

pity we were robbed against manure(rooney should have been SENT OFF). i don't want manure to win the league, far rather it were liverpool followed by villa. good luck on your run in, hoping for a couple more signings, but delighted with etherington and beattie. now maybe we will get the goals we should have scored in other matches.

Thanks for that anfieldred, what a refreshing change ;D Not only aren't you bigging it up and slagging us off, you know your stuff too! Always had a bit of a soft spot for Liverpool, they were the Man Utd of their day in the 80's but didn't attract the typical TwAtS of glory hunters like other 'teams' have done!!!! Good luck for the season and hope to see you visiting here again
