OK ready for the onslaught, He had a decent record before coming to Stoke (Scoring 9 goals last term in the Prem , 4 V Spurs in 1 game mind and they lost 6-5 or something) but the plain fact he does not suit the way TP likes to play. Just cos we have Lennie and Matty on the flanks does not mean we will change our style of football ! TP likes a good hold up player (The Mama role, which Beattie will do and score) and a fast one to run off namely the 'Fuller' role. Kitson drops in between the two. For me we need another fast striker cos when Fuller is not available we are going to be very predictable and one dimensional. Kitson's head is not in the game at all and even after such a short time he looks like a player who needs a move. I noted the posts saying Kitson has a decent game V Liverpool but would those posts be there if we had lost ? I doubt it and I thought he contributed very little to the game. Are we just willing him to do well as we spent 5 million on him and we think he is going to become some super striker? He just looks plain uncomfortable at Stoke and IF we get the chance to move him on and get a fast forceful striker we should do it. We should not keep him here cos we spent money on him - take the loss and move on. He must hate the way we play.

Kitson is a poacher. Poachers feed off confidence, he just needs a goal.
Just remember that run he did off Rorys throw on Saturday where he headed over in front of the Boothen. A fantastic run, the lad has a great football brain and with the midfield we've had they haven't been on the same wavelength as him

Question is - who will take him now at anything near the price paid for him? Anyway, once fully (match) fit, I believe he can still do the business and after only a handful of starts in a Stoke strip, it's still far too early to offload him.

Kitson feeds off wingers... Etherington and Lawrence with Kitson and Beatie = GOALS. Simple as that. And god if Ledley is in there as well then......

All you have to do is look at his performance against liverpool. He played really well and was unlucky not to score a couple. Also the guy had just came back from an injury? People think because he hasnt scored yet we need to fuck him off take a look at all the other players around who need to be shipped out. This lad has alot of potential and is in my eyes a good striker he needs that one goal and we shall see him prove the critics wrong.

No way we need 4 top strikers Fuller, Kits, Beattie and Mama
Strength in depth at last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry but Pericant goes, Cressy can stay as cover for midfield should we not get a fee for him.

We now have three proven goalscorers in the team.
Kitson Beattie Fuller
and you lot want to get rid of one already?!?!?!?
It takes time to build a premiership squad, TP is doing a cracking job, he sorted the defense to start and now he is moving to the front line/midfield.
If he had done it the other way around we would be 'doing a derby' by now.

As y-o-y says we'd take a big (and rather pointless) loss if we got rid now. If someone came in and bid £3 million plus for him, I'd probably say let him go. But they aren't going to do that at the moment so we might as well keep him for the time being and see if we (and he) can turn around his fortunes.
Pericard and Cresswell should be shipped out - Cressy for a moderate fee, I should think, and we should bite the bullet and pay up Pericard's contract. I'd hope we can get in another pacy striker this month (to give more competition for Fuller) and then reasses Kitson's situation in the summer.

Somebody has to go and I don't care whether it is Kitson, Cresswell or Pericard!
A powerful striker, Vincent became Tony Pulis' first signing since returning as City manager when he signed a three-year deal with the Potters after leaving Portsmouth in June 2006 - Roll on JUNE!!

George. I can see where you're coming from mate, but having spent what we did to bring Kitson in, we owe it to ourselves (the club) and to Kitson, to play him with the proper players around him. We keep on saying that Fuller plays better with Mama alongside him, and it's true. Let's give Kitson the same opportunity to play with the proper combination of players around him. He's a proven goal scorer and we can't afford to let him go until he's had every chance.

Cresswell and Pericard to go, which leaves us with Beattie, Fuller, Kitson and Sidibe to stand a great chance of beating the drop.
I'm happy.

After Saturday I think he deserves more time. He looked like a different player altogether on Saturday for me. Maybe coz he realises he may get some decent service now? He was unlucky to not bag 2 on Saturday.....I think his 1st goal is coming sooner rather than later.
GOOOOOOOOOOARN DAVE!

I really want him to succeed. He's got a fantastic goal record and you can see glimpses of quality - but I still don't think that Kitson will figure much between now and May.
Even with Etherington here and presumably more of a gameplan to suit him, I still see him as 4th choice in Pulis' eyes when Mama is back up to fitness.
There's no evidence to suggest Pulis would select him over a fit Beattie, Fuller or Mama.
And , if we bring in another striker as you'd think we would, I think he'll be behind him as well.

At the top of the thread George said we need a "fast forceful" striker. That just ain't Kitson, he runs as though he's on stilts. A fine effort from the throw-in on Saturday, but I'll bet that one surprised most people. We know he hasn't scored yet, but has he even had an effort on target? Can we just keep on playing him, regardless, hoping that he'll come good? If he is going to play, then it's not one goal we need from him, it's a b****y hatful.

Cresswell and Pericard to go, which leaves us with Beattie, Fuller, Kitson and Sidibe to stand a great chance of beating the drop. I'm happy. We need 5 strikers at least as recent weeks have shown, Fuller will be suspended again when he gets 10 yellows, Sidibe is a way off returning, and all of them could easily pick up a knock. You only need one out of four to be injured to only have one attacker on the bench, two are out then we have no-one to bring on even as fresh legs. I say keep Cressie, he can at least work ard closing down at the end of a game, unlike that useless lump Pericard, and let's maybe even get Camara too. Big squads rule!

Ive wished kitson well all season and I think he's had a real spell of bad luck.
With our new signings/ liam back on full capacity I think he'll get some great feeds to score.
other reasons being
1- I think he'll play a big pard in tones game play for the rest of the season 2- I dont see anyone lining up to bid 3- even if they did I dont think Coatsey would allow it

Sure we have seen odd glimpses of quality but he remains a MASSIVE disappointment. He more than anyone else or any other reason cost us all three points on Saturday both his chances were ones you would expect a nigh on £6M striker to put away with ease.
Like fornside, if someone were to offer an acceptable bid where we could get out of the whole sorry affair with a loss of 1 – 1.5M, I would snap their hands off.

To be honest, I still wouldn't be surprised if he left this month - especially if another striker comes in during the window.
I certainly can't see him here come next August, which is a real shame. But, for whatever reason, he doesn't fit here and I can't see that changing. You certainly don't get the impression he has the potential to become a Pulis regular - certainly not when Mama, Beattie and Fuller (and maybe A.N Other expensive buy) are ahead of him in the pecking order

how can anyone say he is unhappy here. no one but kiton himself knows that. he seems and honest lad and most people said that when he signed. he just needs a goal and he'll be sorted. strikers need confidense and he has lost it coz he hasn't scored. if he still got npwt by end of season then worth looking at selling but we need all strikers we can.
fuller wont be going anywhere and cresswell and pericard are worth hanging onto until the summer as you never know we may need them for either first team or reserves.

I'm not 100% sure TP will ever play, reguarly at least two out and out wingers. It would be a big step away from his normal teams.
Regarding Kitson, personally I would get rid (if we can), we need somebody who can score a few goals and is quick and can run down the channels. Not quite sure what people saw in him at the weekend? Granted he was better than usual (hard not to be really), but he looked very slow, missed an easy chance and yet again failed to score.
Cameron Jerome gets my vote.
