Mr Coates, bending the knee doesn't come easy to Stokies, but I salute your benevalance to our club. If it wasn't for your rich generosity, we would probably be up the proverbial creek by now. You've taken a shed load of abuse in the past, but been undaunted and proved yourself to be the No 1 Stokie. Grovelling over now, lets show the under 40's Stokies what that late sixties decade of football was like.

Peter Coates put £500,000 of his own money down on that chump Ameobi to try to get us out of the Championship - that's nothing to do with Sky.
Total respect for the guy.

Yes well done for spending £30million of someone else's money. Cough ... wages ... cough ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif) I remember the meeting ... before TP's return ... Where Coates insisted TP was the man to take us back to the Top-Flight ... Oh how we all laughed (well, laughed probably isn't the right word, but you know what I mean). Credit to the bloke for backing his man during our promotion season and carrying on now that we are back where we belong. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif) ah

who would've thought 11 or so years ago, we would be calling Coates "a legend" and "Sir Peter?"

Yes well done for spending £30million of someone else's money. I know you don't have much time for any of the current regime at Stoke, but FFS, that's churlish in the extreme! You're more than entitled to dislike the bloke, but at least give him credit where it's due. The money spent in the last two years easily exceeds the clubs income. Enjoy the ride while it lasts. St Peter isn't going to be around for ever, and while I'm sure that by the time he steps down he'll have turned the club into a very attractive prospect for potential investors, we'll miss having a genuine fan at the helm. PC is our Jack Walker, and whatever mistakes have been made in the past, nobody can begin to question his commitment to the club now.

The bloke is making up for taking us to our lowest ebb as a club so fair play to him. I didn't want him back, but that was because of how low Stoke were when he first left and he raped Stoke with the golden share issues, but he is totally redeeming himself by putting his money where it counts. Excellent

Personally, i like to judge a person on the whole of his tenure, not just his latter years when his pile is made and he can indulge his hobby.
