What were your thoughts of them last night? I think that they were way too over the top before and after the match. Looked as if they wanted trouble to kick off. Also after the match as we were coming out you would of thought that the club and police would come up with a solution to keep away supporters seperate. Imagine what it is like when man utd come to town

Yeah , and what a joke that "segregation" was , 5 coppers in a line, one every other row , bet they don't use that system when Sunderland are in town

The Police were bad but the stewards, from Stoke might I add were ridiculous. One of them was pushing fans on the steps on the way out. When confronted by the fans, the steward told them to fuck off and laughed in there faces. Fuckin Gold Range!!!!!!!

at barnsley some stupid blokes were being racist towards their keeper Heinz Muller. The stoke steward just sat there and laughed. Absolute joke, there are all these "Potters against racism" advertising boards, yet when it happens sweet fa is done.

Apart from three or four of them coming through to eject a rather scrawny lad from row N, I didn't see anything heavy-handed from Northumberland's finest. In fact, prior to kick-off I saw one copper having a quiet word with a lad who'd been getting "a bit excited"; I'm sure West Midlands plod would have had the same chap in the van.
Personally though, I've never had the least bit of trouble with police or stewards at ANY ground I've ever visited. Maybe I'm just lucky, eh?

A couple of policemen barged past me as we were leaving the bottom of seated area. No sign of an 'excuse me'.

One of the stewards near me walked up the aisle telling everyone to sit down and as I was on the end of a row she told me to sit down or she would fetch the police.
I gestured all around and said that there were 3000 people standing and said that I cannot see a problem as no-one was causing trouble and if the person behind me wanted me to sit down then I would.
I then pointed to the guy behind me and he was standing up also so she walked off in a huff and came back with a policeman who charged up the stairs and grabbed a guy behind me who was drinking a bottle of beer he had brought at half time
The guy wasn't causing any trouble at all, just drinking a beer
The stewards and police were being very petty last night

Stewards ay. They have to make themselves feel that they have earned their £15. Shame they cant intervene when something serious is happening such as the attack on Martin Parker. Jumped up wankers.

Stoke have a reputation wether you like it or not, if you behaved like normal adults instead of trying to bend the rules at every opportunity you might find there would be no hassle at all.

By standing up, by drinking alcohol in the ground.
By the way would you mind not using foul language I find it offensive and unnecessary.

Bazalgette I take your point about drinking alcohol but if they threw everyone out who was standing then the whole of the upper tier, geordies included would have been thrown out
There was no attempt by the police or stewards to make the geordies sit down
If you are going to try to apply the rules then it has to be done consistently and fairly

its a football match at the end of the day, not a tennis match. many fans today have been brought up standing on the terraces on grounds all over the country. personally i love the games where we can stand especially the away grounds. makes for a much better atmosphere. at stoke I often get told (usually by women) to sit down. sometimes i oblige other times I get quite angry as being told to sit down when fuller is making a bee line for the penalty area is not my problem. being who want a seat at stoke who want an unrestricted view should fork out a bit extra and sit in johns smiths upper. amen
