Scoring for fun and did when he was in the Prem at the start of the season.
Put Kitson back on course?

I would love him come... even more than Beatie.. Think Dave would settle and start scoring then...

He has been scoring for fun but last season Kitson outperformed by miles in the Prem so I aren't sure on him.

But if the rumours are true about Beatie costing between 4-6 Million.. I'd prefer Doyle than Beatie... Doyle has shown he has Prem Class & is too good for the champ

I'm sure we were in for him before he went to Reading. Unfortunately, we got the poorer performer of the "dynamic duo" Kitson. Perhaps they'd do a player swap, but I very much doubt it.

And that's because we haven't got the service he had at Reading!

Doyle got 4 goals last season in the Premier League. Kitson got 10! And that because he's used to getting the ball whipped in from the flanks, not his own 6 yard box. Doyle is scoring for fun...in the championship for a very attach minded team. He'd be as lost as Kitson for us. With the signing of Ethrington I expect to see more from Ginge now ...and that's 10 more than he's scored this season....

I believe that Doyle's recently signed a 3-year contract with Reading, and pledged himself publicly to them.
Yes, pushon, when he came over from Ireland there were 2 clubs in for him, us & Reading - he chose Reading.

Kevin Doyle Anyone? No, I prefer ladies myself He would be a good signing but we have about as much chance as Pericard has playing for Juve again.

Villa have been monitoring him for months, you would have to think that if he was made available then there would be a host of clubs after him, plus he would be pricey.
There is no doubt he would be an excellent signing, but am I right in saying he has recently signed a new contract at Reading?

£8m for Doyle or £2.5m for Beattie
besides the player might not want to come

7M is too much of a risk.

Should have gone for doyle instead of Kitson to start with.

According to Setanta sport, if Beattie does't sign today, Stoke are pulling the plud and looking elsewhere. Hope so. If Beattie doesn't wanjt to come, we don't want us to be kept on a string when other players could be brought in.

I don't think he would sign for us. Possibility of relegation, they will possibly go up.
