Having now played at home against all of the so called Big 4, and having witnessed first hand the so called best players in the world, now is the time to ask the question...
Does the abuse that we dish out to these luminaries, actually help us?
The reason I ask is that Rooney, Ronaldo, Gerrard, Lampard, Adebayor, Fabregas have been subjected to real dogs abuse from the crowd, and none have them have appeared to the players that they are touted as being.
The Brit has become an intimidating and hostile environment for the better teams to visit, and long may it continue.
I would like to think that the sheer intensity of the abuse dished out puts these players off their stride a little and helps our own team immensely.
Compare and contrast Gerrard yesterday with his performance v Newcastle where he received a standing ovation from the home fans.
Long may the hostility continue.
I had to take 4 liverpool supporting work colleagues to yesterday's game (all scousers it has to be added) and they absolutely loved the atmosphere generated by the home support, and we were sat in the "posh" West stand.

yes i think it does ... however we need to keep that atmosphere for the "lesser" teams that come to the brit .... if we do, i cant see us being beaten at home all season now

Totally Agree, our home form so far, and till the end of the season is in my opinion going to determine our fate, that doesn't mean that i don't think we can't get anymore points on the road, but our home form is crucial.
The atmosphere and the never say die attitude amongst the players has rattled alot of the league's best sides on home soil, long may it continue.

I've always thought that if they were real professionals then it wouldn't bother them in the slightest... But it must do really, it can't be coincidence that they've all been shite at the Brit.

My thoughts exactly Boother.
The object now is to pick the best player for each team to visit us between now and the end of the season, and to abuse him something chronic.
Starting with Robinho for Man City!
I also forgot to add Gareth Barry in that list, and probably Stewart Downing from the Boro away game. He was visibly shaken by the level of taunting he got from the massed away ranks.
ps...Whilst not forgetting to support our own boys in the process as well! ;D

Fortress Britannia is really working, it does help massively. And it's not that brutal really, just good old-fashioned sledging and they can't handle it. Wonder if our away following can repeat the trick at a couple of the smaller grounds before the end of the season, that might just do the trick.
